Ive noticed quite a few Ubuntu users on this forum but I definitely havent seen many Debian (the distro) users or posts. What am I missing. I originally thought that it might be because Ubuntu is some better optimized version of Debian till I heard other opinions. please tell me more...
I am presently using FC 7 distro. If I upgrade my distro to FC 8, should I reinstall all the media drivers and plugins that I have managed to install with great difficulty ?

The PC magazines giving Lin distros in DVD is sure a great idea. Really appreaciate it. It helps people like me who do not have broadband.
I found something strange checking the magazines last few months. Now, all these (Digit, Chip and PC World) give the same distro each month !! Like months...

Can i use USB flash disk(pen drive) to install distros instead of DISC??

I have tried to use the ARtIStX Distro provided in August Digit DVD, but I could not mount the NTFS volumes. :(
Is it possible to use the ntfs volumes in Read-Write mode while using this distro in Live CD mode? :confused:

Well I was a happy student before our teacher dropped the bomb.SHe told us that we will be using linux for our programming from now on.Basically we will be doing C and c++.
