Trying to learn the rhythm guitar parts of Tornado Of Souls by Megadeth, probably the "easiest" on Rust In Peace. I think I'm gonna need some of those drugs that Mustaine was on at that time #mindbogglingcrazyshit.

Amazing song. Marty Friedman's solo is killer. But it's also one of the toughest solos.

If you want easier rhythm parts, try Symphony Of Destruction.

It's actually not played like that. The intro tab is something like this:

1: 3X0033
2: X30033
3: 2X0033
4: X20033
5: 022033
6: X00233
7: X32033

Also actual chords used are different but I don't remember all their names.

No. 1 is G major
No. 2 is G/C (I am not sure, but it could be a variation of C itself)
No. 3 is G/F#
No. 4 is G/B
No. 5 I am not sure but could be Em7 or something.
No. 6 is Dsus4, not D major.
No. 7 is Don't know this, but some form of C.

This is how I played on that soundcloud track I shared.

Try this out and see.

In case you are wondering, what the "/" are. These are called Slash chords.

This means that the lower parts of the chord are the same but a note is added to the bass part of the chord. In the above examples, the bottom three strings are the regular G major shape(XXX033). But the note next to the slash is added to one of the top three strings.

Therefore G/F# would become 2X0033 (or 220033 if you can hold it that way ;)).

Yeah, there are two tutorials over net. I used this one:

The one you are talking about looks like this:

Thanks for the info about Slash cords. I am thinking of hanging a printout of chords in my room. Just like school days :v:

Played again on same arrangement, this one sounds comparatively better.

Will play on your arrangement. Albeit, yours is easier. The main point learning the second one was to get the chord shift from Am to D fairly quickly. I used to fumble on that part.

For all fingerstyle stuff, this guy teaches so effectively

That last recording was relatively better. However, your guitar sounds somewhat out of tune. Are you sure you tuned it?

Yeah, not even gonna attempt that solo. One of the top 5 of all time imo. I can already play Symphony, quite easy but the difficult part is to get it clean and precise like the original.

e2, a2, d3, g3, b3, e4

You probably used a machine. Check intonation as well.

Compare the note on your E2 string with the harmonic on the 12th fret same string. If the harmonic is slightly off then you have an intonation problem. No amount of tuning would get your guitar in tune then.

Do you know any site other than ultimate-guitar for tabs ? I am looking for Vermillion part 1 tabs.
Thank You

UG is more than enough. There are tons of tabs and multiple tabs for a particular song as well.
