If you're asking about the guitar he mentioned, its a steel string.F series is Yamaha low end economy lineup.

Economy and still 9k?

Economy and still 9k?

Umm..yes..and a entry level ibanez acoustic costs as much...Yamaha has only 2 acoustic models under 10k i guess...

FOR 9K I would rather buy an electric

Lol if you ve played a high end acoustic guitar you wouldnt have said that.I have played acoustic guitars up to range of 25k(Ovation).They have better craftsmanship, sound and they use better woods for making. After i played and find out how the low end guitars sounds like,i listened to my senior playing the Ovation. And it sounded like the guitar played in the soundtrack of a movie. But its sad that we had to pay more here in India for the stuff than others.

I'd rather not.

Actually buying acoustic for learning purpose.

BTW. guys see this video

9k too steep for learning purposes. 5-6k should be more than enough for learning.

He is playing a Nylon string guitar BTW.

One of my friends has a nylon string Yamaha. I must say that nylon string guitars have the best attack.

^^ Not as such like in an electric or semi-acoustic guitar. You might need an external pick up like this -

Yes, its an LTD M-50.

The problem is that I put in 10-46 gauge ProSteel d'Addarios because I felt the old 9-42 ones were a little too slack. But I think the guitar does not support these without some adjustment. I have adjusted the bridge saddles as back as I can, but the intonation is still off. I will have to check with the repair guy to see if he can fix it somehow, or I will have to go back to the 9-42 gauge strings.

Why would gauge change the intonation? Seems like you have a different problem if the intonation is off. This isn't even a floating bridge to need adjustment of the bridge, but try adjusting the string lengths slightly using the screws on the bridge. Try it oput with the 1st string (high e) to know more clearly which way you should be adjusting, and it will help you adjust all of them. However, again I don't think a 1 guage difference in strings should cause intonation problems... make sure the neck itself isn't warping gradually.

That's the problem, I've adjusted the bridge saddles all the way back and the intonation still hasn't been fixed. The same problem is with all the strings. I asked about this on /r/guitar and they told me that a change in string gauge does affect intonation. That is why I need to check in with the luthier. Here's my post for reference : Is there any relation between string gauge and intonation? : Guitar

However, Furtados is pretty far from my place, so I need to do it over some weekend.
