Hi Guys/Gals, Is there any method for configuring the PC to shutdown when the power goes out ? For eg, I am downloading a file in Flashget and suddenly the power goes The system has to indicate Flashget to pause its current download and shutdown the PC automatically

Ubuntu refuses to shutdown. The 32 bit never had any such problem but this 64 bit is really buggy. It just freezes with a blank screen. system: Intel P4 EMT64 2.66 GHz, 1GB RAM, Asrock 945 mobo.

when i power on my computer, the monitor goes into standby mode n the 2 cd roms attached to my comp begin to be accessed...this continues for about 3 min....then the monitor turns on n the bios loads n from there on its all fine....however if i shutdown n then power on again soon this doesnt...
