its a great pick up and i never really knew a pick could improve my playing.its a 1.10mm heavy pick.its too small, since its a jazz pick, and you can barely see its in there:wink:holding the pick was very comfortable
unlike the cheapo picks and the end a bit shapened.its made up of some fiber or something.now im probably going to buy the fender picks next time since theyre also highly rated.

also i found my truss rod adjusting thingy:mrgreen: after a year since the ****er went missing.little bit rusted but ok:-D

lowered the action and straightened the whole fret board.my playing has considerably improved since then:mrgreen:

0.2-0.3 mm I think. But very comfortable. I also have a Jim Dunlop nylon pick with grip, but I find that uncomfortable as well.

^^thanks for the reply.

I find acoustic guitars a bit too unwieldy.

Can Electric guitar work without using amp and speaker ? If yes then,

I can have one within 15k budget but prefer to keep it under 10k.

Suggest a good one. I am thinking of Ibanez or Fender.

What is the point of using an electric guitar without an amp?

If you are investing in an electric guitar, you will have to invest in an amp as well. Furtados Music Ltd. has pretty decent stock of both. Its situated near ABC farms in Koregaon Park.

You can get an Ibanez in around 15-16k, Fender will be way above your budget, you might get a Squier Strat at around 13k though. Since your budget is 10k, you can try for Greg Benett Avion series for about 11k and invest the rest in an amp. But you will probably get a shitty amp in 4k.

If you are a total noob, I'd suggest that you grind your teeth on an acoustic guitar first, learn the concepts, then move on to electric, 'cause playing electric guitar is a different ball game altogether.

Edit : The strats (Squier or Fender) usually (I mean, all that I have seen) have a Floyd-Rose tremolo bridge, which, even though very effective at maintaining tuning, is a pain in the ass to tune. So, you might want to take that into consideration before going in.

Edit : What do you want to play, BTW?

Edit : When you are ready to buy and if you feel like it, let me know and we could go together and check out some guitars.

Yes, I will be buying amp sooner but first I like to get my hands on guitar. Amp will be of same budget 10k-15k. Budget can stretch too.

I'd like to start with Electric Guitar. I guess that shouldn't be a problem.

the ibanez one youve listed is not worth the price tag of 27k.the grg or gio series are usually budget guitars in ibanez.dunno why its so pricey but you can get a real RG series(350,370 etc)which has wizard 3 thin necks,lo pro edge zero trem and slightly good pickups(INF).Dont know about the squier though.(original fender strats starts from 40k ithink)
If youre buying from your place you should definitely take Desmond with you and dont judge by the looks since there are shitty guitars that looks gorgeous:)

Thanks for the input. Yeah, I'd not be buying anything out of impulsive urge. Surely need Desmonds and other people's help here to get the one which suits me.

This Mini Amp plug looks quite portable and got good reviews.

You can get a good one for far less. Around 7k you can get a Roland Micro Cube, which is more than what you need. It is light, portable and runs on batteries, so you can take it around with ease. Also, it has killer effects.

I own one.

Yes the Affinity is pretty good, but it has only single coil pickups, good for playing clean tones. Get this if you don't plan on playing too much distortion or if you only want overdrive. I personally prefer the Ibanez. It has 2 Humbuckers and a single coil pickup and can handle a lot of distortion, ideal for metal and hard rock, but it has an EDGE III tremolo bridge, which is a license-built Floyd-Rose, so re-tuning it will be a problem (as stated earlier). It'd be better if we go and look them up in the shop.

As for the woods, Basswood and Poplar are good. Not sure about the others, but STAY AWAY FROM AGATHIS. It is really cheap quality wood used to make doors and windows.

I'd like to start with Electric Guitar. I guess that shouldn't be a problem.

No, it wouldn't be.

PM me when you ready and I will let you know if I am available then.

You can start with "Am I Evil ?". If you listen to the vocalist, you will notice the similarity to James Hetfield's voice. Diamond Head is a great influence on Metallica. Metallica even covered "Am I Evil?".

Because its the GRG250. The RG250 will be almost double of its cost.

Original Fender Strats cost around 80k last I checked. Someone I know got one second hand for 18k.

It's not bad, but it has no gain control, no effects. Its just a vanilla amp with low power output, enough to drive small speakers or headphones. Its better that you get at least a modest cube amp, like the Roland I stated.

I wonder if I can plug in my portable amp and feed it to my earphones. Will that work ?

I gave you the links of instrumentals before. Personally I am not into hard rock and metal. Lets have a look at the offering there in the shop. I have not much idea about it.

Good as a backup amp then.
