There's nothing there.
Is Cubase a DAW? Never bothered to use it though. I got the Cubase dvd with something I bought.
now that i am on a pc.
Having a daw is like having a whole recording studio in your house. You can use plugins and effects just like in a studio and create high quality soundtracks.
This is what i made while fooling around with lmms.

if anyone of you is interested in giving this a go, you can get lmms from here : LMMS - Linux MultiMedia Studio
fixed!
Edit : Did the first solo of Comfortably Numb today. Its not very perfect but just enough to understand how to play it. Will cover the second solo later.

Producing music. Like what people do to make movie soundtracks, etc. Its called music direction in bollywood.
Basically it means you use a studio setup to make music. However, you can also use DAWs to make studio quality soundtracks at home. Some DAWS are LMMS, Ableton Live and FL Studio. LMMS is free and relatively easier to use
Could explain more, but on phone now.
I tried using Reaper.
With LMMS, can I add effects on the guitar (distortion, reverb .. all those ?). Basically I want to plug the guitar into the pc
There's a slight delay though with the guitar now on Reaper. May be I need Asio drivers.
Yes, but I don't think it will be very polished. Because effectively you would be recording clean and then adding effects over it. But it is best suited for creating MIDI based soundtracks.
If you want to record guitar, its better if you get something like Line 6 POD Studio USB recording interface. Couple this with POD Farm and you will virtually never run out of effects, amp cabinets, ,amp models or stompboxes.
The delay you speak of is because the audio drivers that you use for recording are not very efficient for recording in realtime because of some inefficient AD conversion algorithm. Yes, ASIO would resolve the lag, but it is licensed by Steinberg. There is a free but experimental alternative at ASIO4ALL - Universal ASIO Driver but I haven't tried it yet. This should effectively remove any lag.
As of now, the most efficient method would be to use the POD Studio I mentioned above.
Edit : The ASIO driver available on asio4all needs to be compiled with Audacity in order to be used. There is no workaround that I know of. Also, I am not sure if there are any DAWs that support it.
Have you recorded anything in Reaper? I have a lot about it. Even people from the Ultimate-Guitar forum recommend it.
The GX is available from Bajaao for around 6k. I think I till buy it next month.
any tutorial available for Da Tuner?
