Broken In
I bought Acer 4820TG laptop around 6 months ago. Since then only I was facing problem with it. Earlier fan module was not working properly and it used to get shut down after over-heating. I called CC and technician visited me in soon. When he opened my laptop I found that the blade of the fan was broken and the broken Blade was not inside the case. Then after examining the body of laptop, I found that the fan came broken from the manufacturer side. There is not also enough space for a broken blade to come out also if it would have broken after packaging, it might have caused damage to other parts or scratch as blade can break only when its running.
I really don't understand What kind of Quality Check they do?
Then technician said that Motherboard and fan module will be changed and within 3-4 weeks the old parts were replaced.
Then again I faced similar problem, the fan was not working properly but it wasn't getting shut down. Then I checked the bottom of laptop and it was so much heated up that you can't put your finger for more than 2 seconds. Then I had to shut down the laptop after the use of 15 minutes or half an hour, I guess.
I called up CC and same technician visited me. I told him whole matter and he called I guess CC and was enquiring about bios update and the feedback from CC was surprsing they said, " Check kar ke dekh lo.". I mean they are running a company and when someone ask you about update that even of BIOS and they say, " try it". Never seen such Technical Helpline. I don't know what kind of person was there who said this. What if display goes off?
Then the technician put down the phone in anger.
He abused them and said *%^$(*& kuch nhi batate training mein yeh Acer wale bas laptop kholo aur jodd lo. ho gya. Sabse bekaar service hai Dell wale acche hai, customer ko problem hi nhi aati."
Then he just did something and everything was ok.
I was happy that fan is working again. Later I found that he changed the Graphic Mode from SWITCHABLE to DISCRETE. Because of this I can't switch to inbuilt GC and it was eating away my battery.
I felt like I was fooled, First by Company and then even by Technician.
I called upon him and asked him about the issue that I'm not able to switch. He told me that Since the motherboard is changed. Earlier motherboard BIOS version was 1.25 and your current motherboard BIOS version is V1.26 which is a successor. So you won't be able to switch GC. Now I was frustrated as I know he was wrapping up the matter. I just said Do whatever you want I want my laptop as it was earlier. Again he said he will change the motherboard.
But I'm fed up of all this thing. Enough is Enough.
So I called upon CC today noon and asked the representative to get me to the Senior most person, the call was disconnected, possible due to network problem. I called second time, there was some lady this time and she redirected me to someone senior. I was on hold for 1 minute and my call was disconnected from your end. I called upon 3rd time and this time I was talking to a guy named RITESH. I asked him to get me to the top most senior. He asked me problem and my details and finally the reply was Sorry Sir, this issue won't be solved by our senior. You are requested to send us an email. I don't know why someone is a senior when he don't have any authority.
I asked him 3-4 time to get me to the senior and everytime he was just fooling around the issue and was forcing me to mail.
Feeling Helpless, I just had to smashed the phone, as there was no other option.
As the company can send me a faulty or I can say Broken FAN, it can be possible that there are other faulty part in the laptop. I guess there is because the issue didn't get solved even after changing FAN MODULE and MOTHERBOARD.
Frankly saying I don't have any option for refund otherwise I would happily take my money back.
So please is there anyone who can help me or suggest me so that I can get new replaced laptop. I have mailed them a about this issue, waiting for reply.
