In normal everyday uses, difference is too miniscule to we worth saying. Its better if we recommend you a whole phone rather than a phone only for the processor.

Scorpion > Cortex A5. A5 is a weak processor and packs an equally weak GPU. Same story in dualcore variant.

Buddy, I think U r asking about the Cortex A5 dual core for Karbonn A9+. But as @Sam said, it's a weak processor, and have a equally weak GPU. In that case I will suggest u to go for Karbonn A18. It has a good processor and a good GPU as well.

Am back, buddy, and still am on the verge of buying a phone.
I u may remember, I had my eye On Lenovo phones which were unveiled a few days ago.. and now the price hav also been declared.
Out of that lot, I am very impressed by Lenovo P700 - Full phone specifications which has been priced at 12500/- only..

Now please help me out about how good the under-mentioned processor and GPU is??

SoC MTK 6577 ARMv7 (Cortex-A9), 1 GHz dual-core
GPU PowerVR SGX 531

Hope u will include the Lenovo phones, on ur Dec buying guide. :)

same Soc as Lava XOLO A700, Micromax A110, Micromax A90S & Spice Mi 500. Even the internal memory and ram is same but with smaller display.

Hope u will include the Lenovo phones, on ur Dec buying guide. :)

once a few more online shop start selling/preorder. currently only available at indiaplaza. and it is not a monthly guide, when new mobiles (with price) appear, i add them. new month bring in changes in format.

4+2GB. 4GB accessible to user. 2GB for apps. rest ~1.5GB or so is taken up by system + cache.

total Memory 8GB (internal, and no external card Slot)
Out of that 4GB is for files, and 2GB is for Apps. Other 2GB is non usable, and is utilized by the OS, and other stuffs.
same Soc as Lava XOLO A700, Micromax A110, Micromax A90S & Spice Mi 500. Even the internal memory and ram is same but with smaller display.

Ok, But it has a 2500 mah Battery.. and tells that it has Talktime of 22 hours, and Standby time of 13 days..
Now, I am certainly not expecting it to last that longer, But it will certainly hold up longer than others.

What Do u suggest??, Ahould I go with this phone??

Lets wait for it to get review by PhoneArena or Gogi. Build quality mayn't be that much better but if paying more means better service, that will be worth it.

531 is old and weak but the resolution has more or less stayed the same on mobiles.
531 ultra = 531 overclocked so they named it so.

iphone 4s used the same processor.

NO. Apple Ax is apple's naming scheme and is not related to ARM naming scheme as there is no ARM Cortex A6. Apple A5 is based on ARM Cortex A9.

Sam bro you are doing a great job really. :)

samsung still use the ancient ARM11 cores and not Cortex A5. Not only will this make a lot of apps incompatible, DEVs are having hard time making camera & video work on new Android.

Can u please explain more of the above statement..
also, one of my friend was asking me about the "nm" score of the MTK 6577 ARMv7 (Cortex-A9), 1 GHz dual-core processor, and I couldn't reply him with it.. Can u help me out here..

Re: Mobile Buying Guide: November 2012

SGX531 should perform more or less like Adreno 205 (Qualcomm Scorpion). Maybe slightly better but that depends. Now most mobiles packing the Adreno 205 (Sony Xperia V, L, Ray, Arc, etc) boost the same FWVGA (480X854) resolution as A110. And considering those mobiles still cost 15k+ you are getting more graphics power for lesser price. And if Adreno 205 can handle FWVGA resolution just fine, so can SGX531. Had A110 pack HD display then 531 most likely will fail and cause slowdown.

also, one of my friend was asking me about the "nm" score of the MTK 6577 ARMv7 (Cortex-A9), 1 GHz dual-core processor, and I couldn't reply him with it.. Can u help me out here..

ChipsetProcessing CoreNO of CoresInstruction SetManufacturing Node
MediaTek MT6577ARM Cortex A92ARM v765nm

65nm. And it is not a score, it is the manufacturing process. Size of the smallest transistor used in making the processor. smaller process (32nm, 28nm) will require less power to operate and can hit higher frequency (Samsung's Exynos 4 is quad core yet require less power and run at 1.5Ghz+ on all 4 cores) but need a huge funding in designing SoC with such small transistor.
