Peak Oil is real!
@Sam,
All phones have unique screens. IMO, its better to buy screen guards made for Optimus One rather than getting something else and then having to cut it to size...
@gmg9,
Since you like to experiment with your phones, your best choice would be LG Optimus One. It has got awesome developer support and a very large community @XDA Developers forum...
BTW, Franco has released his newest kernel. I am flashing it now...

[KERNEL][26 JUN]franco.Kernel |.v18|VR|CFS|BFS|SLQB|TinyRCU|ZRAM|GPU+ |.41| - xda-developers
* 2.6.32.41 source
* BFQ/VR/SIO I/O schedulers
* CFS and BFS 404 CPU schedulers
* SLQB memory allocator
* Tiny Preempt RCU
* AHB overclocking
* Overlock frequencies from 122 to 864
* Smartass, InteractiveX, SavagedZen governors avaliable
* Interactive and ondemand governors updated and tweaked
* tun.ko and cifs.ko included
* ZRAM
* SFB network scheduler
* KGSL 3D drivers updated and tweaked for maximum performance
* MSM framebuffer optimizations
* Power management backported from the 2.6.35 kernel
* A lot and I really mean a lot of patches backported from the 2.6.35, 2.6.36, 2.6.37, 2.6.38 and 2.6.39 kernels, some of them not even used yet in any kernel for any Android device
* No wakelocks in the kernel. Your device won't wake up even if your screen is shut down (happens often with the stock kernel)
* Backported IRQ management from kernel 2.6.35
* Very long battery life with the maximum performance like you've been used to know from franco.Kernels
Cheers!
