I am sorry that I did not make myself sufficiently clear and it seems you may have misunderstood my main concern. Money, of course, is of some (may be insignificant) concern, but I primarily meant I am wasting "energy", not money. A couple of hundred bucks annually may not hurt most individuals, but wasting that amount of energy per user will definitely amount to substantial waste of energy collectively, which is a bad thing considering the mounting energy crisis. I regret that I belong to that (shrinking) group of users. By the way, I run my (home) PC only 8-10 hr a day almost 365 days a year and, you are right, <Rs.10 a month doesn't hurt even this retired man!

But you have a wonderful VA panel. A tradeoff of increased power consumption was imminent. Came across this LED < CCFL < Plasma < CRT (duh!) and also that VA & IPS > TN.

PS- I had bought a WD blue for 2000 some 20 days ago It was obvious for the prices to increase due to the flood in thailand. Rumors are in-air of increment of other core components too

It's not because of Thailand floods but the rupee value depreciation due to volatile Euro.

Prices increased not only in India but also the rest of the world.

For HDDs, its more due to floods, than the currency. Otherwise the increase would be not more than 10-15%.

My advice would be to stockpile 2-3 high capacity HDDs now rather than repent in future.

What's wrong with Intel anyways? The size of their stock HSF has been decreasing since Pentium 4 days.

I won't be using a huge cooler. And even if I miht one day, I'll wipe those profiles off with a cutter. G.skill wasn't available at SMC.
