Bought an EXIDE sealed lead-acid battery (12V 7AH) for my ~5 yrs old Smartpower UPS, to replace the old ded battery inside it. Its supposed to give 10-15 mins backup for my PC.

total cost : Rs.602/- incl. 12.5% VAT and all.

I live in kerala. Its difficult to get FSP,Gigabyte, corsair etc..Only options were CM and Zebronics.Rather than going for CM extreme series I went for Zebronics Pro series.

Better brand, got Active PFC,having original 80+ rating.

I knew these things but I didnt have much options.I am not living in a metro.People will wonder if I say Corsair,FSP,Gigabyte,etc..In most shops they have iBall,Zebronics,Frontech even intex like substandard products. In my place nobody having an SMPS which costs more than 500/- .When I asked for branded SMPS my dealer told me that only CM is available.

Zebronics Pro rates 80% efficiency. however its nowhere near 80% efficient & moreover its 12V rail power is low. Gigabyte isn't 80% efficient. forget 80+. in typical Indian situation, expect getting close to 80. but suppress 80%, thats not going happen.

yah. better get a bad PSU than a bomb. his pc will suffer but atleast won't result in an explosion :-D

12V power of Gigabyte 460 is 348W and current is 14+15=29

12V power of Zebronics pro 500 is 384W and current is 19+19=38

Both are dual 12V rails no use. It should be a single 12v rail
