Good that you got Ubuntu :)

I still have some issues with Ubuntu and Linux in general at the moment (although I have been running a dual-boot system with Ubuntu for close to two years now and I am fairly experienced with Linux)

1) Wine sucks...I can't play Guild Wars without major lag on Linux, and if I can't play Guild Wars on that OS, I spend the majority of my time on one that can.

2) I need Office 2007 very badly for documents that I get from Uni mates and so on...using Virtualbox or w/e to run it is a pain. Linux Office suites are epic fail atm, compared to Office 2007.

3) I cannot use my webcam on Linux...which sucks as I use it almost everyday...I have to boot into Windows to use it and combined with GW, this means I never ever run Linux on my system anymore.

@ Faraaz - It will be better that you stay on windows, if you are finding it tough in ubuntu linux. :)

Openoffice on ubuntu can open you MS Office 2007 documents. Are you missing some feature present in MS Office 2007?

1. Use windows for that. Emulation needs a lotta resources and isnt simply upto the mark if you want to play windows games most of the time. :)

2. OpenOffice.org as mehulved said. Though you may have been used to the MSOffice 2007 UI. Otherwise office suites are built almost the same, and I do not percieve much difference in using Oo_O/MSoffice(Pre-2007)/Thinkfree/LotusSymphony/ Etc; as for a casual user, all provide the essentiial functions; OpenOffice.org is the best once can get in Linux and it adheres to its promise :!: . If you are working with macros; then you have a tough time. :(

3. Well; depends on your hardware exactly. My webcam worked after downloading a simple file for it. :)

The webcam is the one which comes built in with the ASUS G1S. Probably they've updated drivers by now (I had to mess with /dev stuff last time on Gutsy Gibbon to get it working, and even then, not very well). For Office, I have to use templates, work with field text like inserted tables of contents, headers/footers etc which Open Office does NOT handle properly. It also messes up the formatting a LOT, in that the document looks one way on Linux but looks messed up and out of whack on Windows (and this is just text I'm talking about. If you are using overlays and inserted images in anything but the simplest arrangement, you are screwed again).

^^ Yes thats true, why? because none is fking the other; its just that they are different. OOo file on MSO or the o0ther way round, you are likely to get errors. But If you have to take it to print to somewhere; you can always save as PDF in OOo and take it there. :D
