** ~10k mobile advice thread **

i have used 3" Android (not Galaxy Y), and screen does feel small as i already own a 3.2" Android mobile. but for a first time user, it should be ok. i'll advice going to any samsung showroom & use Y as well as Ace for sometime (Dell XCD35 have same screen size). If you are ok with 3", go with it. also check Wave Y. cost less but have better specs.

i want a good android with good developer community...
budget- 10k
choice of company- samsung, sony ericsson etc... (no LG/dell or indian brands)
usage-internet, chatting, videos, music....
optional- OS up-gradable to ICS...
please help me finding out a good phone, my friend wanna buy one by the end of this month....

you're pretty much using your android only at like 30% of it's potential without rooting it... And I have yet to come across anyone who has had issues after rooting, you can always unroot if you want to take for warranty.. I also have a optimus one which has NO lag because its rooted and I run it at 739mhz..

Lg Optimus Net is the phone to get. Its not a bad brand as you think. The only other phone I would recommend is Galaxy Y. But it has half the RAM and smaller screen.

All android phones in the market including Micromax A60 costing 4K have GPS.

Dell XCD35 GPS is very good. I get connection even in the parking lot at the basement.

But you have to overclock the Dell as CPU is weak for the screen.

Never buy Idea blade. It has 256 MB of RAM and 256 MB of ROM. You can't unlock Idea blade's RAM to 512 MB. It is Chinese version of blade. Go for Dell XCD35. It has 512 MB of RAM and 512 MB of ROM. If you want good community support like XDA Developers, Cyanogenmod & Modoco, etc then definitely go for Dell XCD35. You will get lots of ROM, customizations from these communities. and not in list CyanogenMod 9 which is ICS (Android 4.0) version of Android also comming for Dell XCD35. :smile:

you will not get good Flash support, gaming, good camera Android mobile phone in this budget. Increase your budget little bit (3k) and go for Motorola Defy or any other ARMv7 Android phone. :-o

Optimus Net is the best choice for you. It costs Rs.9999 in flipkart last time I checked. Its ideal.
