UMI X2 delayed. once they appear on sale, will add it.

Ok :cool:

btw Do you know how many apps utilize 4 cores ?
I mean are 4 cores really great over 2 cores for current generation of apps ?

no idea. but when you have HD or Full HD display, you'll need the processing power. so its upto you to pick quadcore Cortex A9 or dualcore Cortex A15/Qualcomm Krait. Also this solves another problem that desktop/laptop users face: graphics. you'll always get a really highend mobile GPU with these kind of chips which will be required if you start playing games on such high resolution unlike laptop where you may get crippled graphics with a top of the line processor.

I would pick a dual krait over quad cortex anyday.
IMO There is just too much hype over quads. In reality there are very less apps/games which utilize more than 2 cores

Re: Mobile Buying Guide: March 2013

ICS 4.0.4 :p not even 4.1. Aside from that it might just be the perfect midrange phone.... Specially considering how fast the single core x900 was...

Z2480 is fast irrespective of clockspeed (architecture). so 1.6Ghz or 2Ghz will be same and now consider that X900 can be had for 14k, why spend 6k more for X1000? Android version is same, internal memory went down (but with expandable storage). so instead of paying 20k, why not add 7k more and get Samsung Galaxy S3 or LG Optimus 4X HD. Or for 10k more one get Optimus G which is superior to X1000 in terms of performance as well as features.

it is more of an update than upgrade. X1000 should have been launched with a 15-17k pricetag. but when you are selling out 20k, only the strongest of heart will get a desi mobile irrespective of it packing Intel or Qualcomm processor.

Re: Mobile Buying Guide: March 2013

Correction-
Z2480 has SGX544

AFAIK quadcore scorpion doesn't exist. my safe bet is dualcore krait.

That's why this-
(no product available)
Per core performance is better than a scorpion so mentioned it just for reference

@Sam
I think you should bring back x900 to the list as x1000 certainly does not seem to be a replacement at 20k
