Re: Mobile Buying Guide: April 2013

won't happen. Google's aim is to get android to maximum device. if they restrict KLP to quadcore mobiles only, half of the crowd will get stuck to JB permanently and the rest will jump to Windows/iOS. lets see what Google brings with KLP.

Well said.
That's exactly what I was thinking.
I think this may be just Samsung's marketing ploy to sell their latest offerings...

Re: Mobile Buying Guide: April 2013

Guys, suggest a phone with display between 4-4.5", not more than 13K. And yeah..shouldn't be more than 9mm thick. Is any such cell available ? I know the request seems weird.

Re: Mobile Buying Guide: April 2013

Definitely Android. But even Windows would even do. But most Windows phones are pretty thick, around 10.8mm

The UMi X1S and X2 reviews are going to come out soon !! Excited ? :)

@ Sam
I think you should add the recently launched Xperia SP to the 25-30K category...

Though I don't see the SP doing very good in the price conscious Indian market, with a price tag of 27.5K, as in it as it stands no where in front of competition from the One X+ and the SIII, both of which can now be had for under 30K, making them among the sweetest deals around...
What do you think?

What are the new budget phones lined up for India?

I have the same question.
I plan to buy a phone within 14-15K in May or July, after my semester exams.
Right now the Galaxy S Advance is at the top of my interest list, the only thing missing really is the JB 4.1 update, which Samsung is still lingering, but I guess that is will come to Indian users by May I guess...

guys any news of samsung galaxy s 4 launch in india..!!!!:-D:-D:p

April 25th I guess...

When will XPERIA L come to india

The Xperia SP has already been launched, so I guess that the L will follow suit soon, in all probability by the end of Aplil...

I am also looking keenly for the L (if the price is right, cause IMO the SP is heavily overpriced at 27.5K)...

Really good piece of information.Very good thread.

+1 :)

eduku, I think you are forgetting the fact that SP uses Krait S4 pro chip and Adreno 320 GPU. It blows away S3 and One X/+ as far as performance goes and is almost on par with Nexus 4 in most benchmarks and better in a few.

Really? I am not sure cause I haven't checked any benchmarks yet...

However a major concern with all the Sony phones of late have been the sub-par displays, and even the flagship Xperia Z is not immune to this issue, despite having a 1080p resolution. It is ironic that a company, as renowned as Sony, for making some of the best televisions in the market, the display of its smartphones has proved to be its Achilles heel. The TN panels being used just do not have the viewing angles or the contrast and colour reproduction, to take on the likes of Samsung and HTC, let alone Apple. I do hope that Sony considers using AMOLED displays (at least for the flagships) or some type of IPS LED-backlit-LCD for its future handsets, which will give much better contrast, colour reproduction and of course better viewing angles….

So the One X+ and the SIII are at a definite advantage over the SP here, even though the SP may be slightly faster...

On a buying perspective, however, I am looking forward to the recently announced Xperia L; fingers crossed that it sports an affordable price tag...

Only Demo units had sub par displays according to the info given by fellow forum mates. The retail ones these days have sharp displays afaik

Add a free mobile cover and screen guard. You might be able to achieve a 4k sale then :p
