Amd hasn't been able to catch up intel since then. :) But games are seriously gonna get multicore oriented with the launch of next-gen consoles. Its a long debate, but i would like to suggest you amd fx 8320 along with a 970 motherboard.

Reasons are various. It has 8 integer cores , runs at a high clock speed and has enough grunt to feed any gpu with game data. Future titles will use more than 4 cores, so its a wise choice.
Besides, the platform also has an upgradable path coz it will support upcoming steamroller cpu's from AMD.

Intel's current socket (1155) won't support haswell cpu's which are launching in june. So your upgrade path is cut off. I would say get the 8320 for less than 10k and get a good gpu like a 7850 2gb.
I know its overkill for your monitor now, but will prove as a wise decision in the long run. Would have advised 650-ti boost, but they are not currently available in India.

wow good explanation. only thing abt intel that sucks is incompatibility to next socket. AMD wins there.
haswell cpu's are for notebooks na ?? correct me if m wrong.
650 ti (not boost) is on fk for around 12 k how is that ?

Intel definitely performs better than AMD IF and ONLY IF you use a Same GFX card. If you go with an AMD one you get a better card than with the Intels ...

It's a long long debate... some threads reach 500+ pages on some forums for intel vs amd & still continue. As I said Fanboys war.

The 650 Ti is not good at its price. At 13k you can get the HD 7850 2 GB which trashes the GTX 650 Ti

And also on flipkart all components are overpriced...

Ya me too noticed that fk is overpriced. but local shops in Nashik are more overpriced they r quoting me 7750 2 gb for 9.5 k & 7770 1 gb for 10.5 k wtf. so imagine what will they quote for 7850 2 gig ??? !!!

No mate, haswell is intel's next microarchitecture after sandybridge. It will be available for servers, workstations, desktops, notebooks, ultraportables and convertibles.
Its highly diverse than previous intel cpu's. You can actually wait for that. Its just a couple of months away.
650-ti is not good at the price. Better gpu's are there for a bit more.
650-ti boost is worth buying and it actually beats the 7850, albeit by a small margin. Its not available yet.
Btw i've got one heck of deal for you.

Grab it until it lasts. Its a 7950 level gpu if you know. I don't think its a hoax either coz the discount of 22% is clearly mentioned.

The i7-3770K has 33% more cache than the i5-3570K. will this matter in games or real life performance or in future ??

Also the lack of Hyper-Threading makes i5-3570k perform worse than the Intel Core i7-3770K.

no at all cache is usefull for multitasking, not for gaming

take i5 3570k and oc it and enjoy.it will handle any games for next coming years

@OP,
Don't go in for a i7. Its no going to be futureproof or anyh=thing. go in for i5 3570k and overclock it for better performance. I suggest you extend your budget a bit and get a gtx660. It is better.

I too am from nashik and planning to build a pc. Where did you ask for prices?

My last advice. You are actually spending 24 to 26k only on proc and mobo. But if you go with FX 8350 and the Asus M5A97 Evo both are priced at 18k you get an even powerful GFX card than the Intels one..

what do u mean exactly by "intel ones" ???

As per my knowledge Intel dnt have any discrete graphics card !!!
