Amd hasn't been able to catch up intel since then. But games are seriously gonna get multicore oriented with the launch of next-gen consoles. Its a long debate, but i would like to suggest you amd fx 8320 along with a 970 motherboard.
Reasons are various. It has 8 integer cores , runs at a high clock speed and has enough grunt to feed any gpu with game data. Future titles will use more than 4 cores, so its a wise choice.
Besides, the platform also has an upgradable path coz it will support upcoming steamroller cpu's from AMD.
Intel's current socket (1155) won't support haswell cpu's which are launching in june. So your upgrade path is cut off. I would say get the 8320 for less than 10k and get a good gpu like a 7850 2gb.
I know its overkill for your monitor now, but will prove as a wise decision in the long run. Would have advised 650-ti boost, but they are not currently available in India.
wow good explanation. only thing abt intel that sucks is incompatibility to next socket. AMD wins there.
haswell cpu's are for notebooks na ?? correct me if m wrong.
650 ti (not boost) is on fk for around 12 k how is that ?
Intel definitely performs better than AMD IF and ONLY IF you use a Same GFX card. If you go with an AMD one you get a better card than with the Intels ...
It's a long long debate... some threads reach 500+ pages on some forums for intel vs amd & still continue. As I said Fanboys war.
