I am sending this PM again because I still feel that you are still under certain misconceptions.
I am doing this out of respect that you PMed me, but you have stop and read with patience and understand before posting on the forums blindly:
I don't think I've said that ALL boards with 4 pin atx can't facilitate 125w? I've take the example of that msi model because of the complaints I've seen is from GD55 and GD65- hence I think I've said some other thread to avoid from these series as much as possible? That's the reason I've quoted Chew's words before because I've couldn't have said it myself. Maybe MSI will improve GD55/65 series in the future, but that's another story. Be careful and read properly I am writing. The more read, the easier for you to understand.
I believe I've said "Don't be under the impression that just because companies say boards with 125/140w support but with 4 pin atx connector, doesn't mean they will do it" after quoting those words from xtreme systems? Correct me if I am wrong.
If you read that quote, he did say i his own way of saying that assuming the circuitry from the 4 pin atx is made right+ quality components+ adequate cooling on the MOSFETs, it shouldn't be a problem. The reason I am recommending 880gma UD2H because I've tested and used that board. Despite the fact it doesn't have a MOSFET sink, it does the job.
Also at the same time, I am recommending 880GMA UD2H, doesn't mean I am concluding other boards are crap. This is "India TV" way of logical thinking where reporter make such assumptions by quoting certain sentences/conversations/lines and puts out a big display in public. I know you want to do something for the good of the community hence I am telling you via PM- or else I usually discourage people to ask personal advice- or even tell them to read the reviews online. If you've observed, I don't recommend stuff unless I havent tested and tried it and can say with confidence that its a decent product (if not good). What I say are facts, but its limited because I don't have the resources from Asus or a 125w processor from AMD to give it a try. Another reason that you should rely on review sites like Anandtech. I've spend 3-4 hours reading his analysis and there's still lot more knowledge in such articles itself.
I think I've also said somewhere that only problem with asus is layout issue and bios conflicts on certain boards, but its overshadowed by the service.
Asus did launch elite 2.0 service, but one has to play the waiting game to see if that brings out a significant improvement.
