My "beeping" hdd!

hey guys!!
i have a EXTERNAL hdd, IOMEGA 320 GB ( USB 2.0).
worked fine till now. when ever i insert the usb port there comes this rhythmic "beeps" and i can hear a lot of commotion inside.
and also this error comes up " format your disk to use it again."
but after a few retries it works.
whats the problem?
ironically this is the hdd i got free with DIGIT SUBSCRIPTION.

Backup all the data to DVD-DLs ASAP and RMA it. It can crash any time.

Which USB port are you connecting it to. If it is the front port try connecting to the back USB port. Worked for me.

okay guys problem solved!!!!
made a deal with my dad--- either give me cash to buy 100 dvd's or
--- get another hdd.
and he chose to get another hdd instead, free actually from his office.
