Yah the extra simd's really do a world of good to 6870. Amd has spaced its products properly.

I think you mean 6850 is almost as fast as 5850, a oc'ed 6850 matches 5850 performance(~95%).

Ah yes, it does, its really up to which camp you prefer. The 6850 is a good card, being used by a lot of people, its not a experimental architecture like 69xx, so its safe to go for.

Actually VLIW4 is abrand new architecture, all of ATIs optimization is related to the VLIW4 architecture(for all the old games), for new games ATI are optimizing for 69xx but in many older games VLIW5 will shine through, and if proved not efficient enough ATI may later switch to VLIW5 again leaving 69xx users in dismay(read this in some review, can't remember), better to stick to proven formula.

All those indulging in the exaagerated bashing of the CM X600 , how can you be so sure the PSU will blow up ??? If it was that obvious why is it still in the market ?? Is it the new fad , despising all CM PSUs ?? Agreed there has been a lot of unfotunate incidents , but out of how many to actually support immidieate replacement of it ?? People are speaking as if their house was blown up along with the CM PSU.

Its just that it might take a few components with it when it blows up. It can also damage other hardware without blowing up. (Talking about bad PSUs in general)
Although the reactions are rather over the top they are not wrong.

usse 6 months pehle the mobo i had faced a burnt vga controller and even the ram sticks were affected a lot.

so i have completely boycotted cm power supplies.

Tkin, go for Hd 6850 buddy. It is a hell of a overclocker also and it can beat an Oced GTX 460 with ease. It has better performance when Anti alising is on,

build quality of CM extreme power is not that good and its proven..why take risk with your delicate rig..better safe than sorry!!

Asus GTX 560 direct cu is 14 that wud be a good option , let him save another 4K its not urgent right? if its urgent only HD 6850 is the option .

He got a 6850(XFX), around 10k I think, so far so good, no blown psu or anything.
