Budget 24k.. Advice needed !!

I started off with a budget of 20k and was left with no good options. Now i have painfully raised my budget to a max 24k. I would like to know which is a better option between these two ?

(1) BB Playbook + Htc Explorer = Rs. 23,000
(2) Htc Sensation = Rs. 24,000

My requirements :

(1) Browsing - Bigger the screen the better. Will use it for watching movies and general browsing, social networking and so on. My preference is Playbook for obvious reasons.

(2) Sygic maps on android - Sensation ofcourse will be fine. If i go for the Explorer, then would it do justice as well ? Like will it work smoothly without a hitch ?

(3) I am not a garmer. I will not be playing any games. So this is not at all a deciding factor for me.

(4) Some apps for entertainment and utility - Again if Sensation, no issues. Would like to know if Explorer ll be fine. May be like gtalk, skype, Talking tom and such like etc

If Explorer can do justice based on my above needs then i feel Playbook + Explorer is the best option for me. It would be very very helpful if you guys can share your viewpoint and offer your suggestions.

PS : A humble request. Kindly offer your suggestions based on my needs and not just based on my budget. Thanks

Please don't buy Playbook.Instead get iPad 2 for 21.8k.I think Explorer will serve your purpose for the other part. But you have to extend your budget for that.
And if you talk about only a phone then Sensation is really a good option and as the price has decreased to 24k,it is a very nice deal.
If you can increase your budget then you can also have a look at Note,it will serve your purpose for both a good phone and a tab.
And soon HTC One X is also gonna come, guess in a month or so.

^^ Thanks for the inputs aroraanant.

My budget is a strict 24k and this in itself is stretched. I am pretty sure on that front. This is the max i can afford at this point in time. So that pretty much rules out Note and Ipad and other good deals above 24k.

I am planning on buying it immediately and that leaves me with a window of 2 days only. So i am not considering any coming soon phones.

Could you please let me know as to why its a big No for Playbook ? I am under the impression that it would be good considering i would be using it only for browsing while at home on wifi.

Playbook is great for Video Playback, nice for browsing but thats about it.
It was heavily dependent on a BlackBerry phone for most basic tasks and Apps like contacts, calender, BBM etc.
I dont know till what extent the BB OS 2.0 fixes that problem, you'll have to do the research on that.
The thing is if you get the Explorer + Playbook
You'll get the 'OKAY' of both worlds, not the best of one.
Eventually you will feel the need to get better apps as the 600 MHz proccy on the Explorer just wont do the Job, Plus you'll be lusting for Android 4 when Updates roll out for other phones.
The Sensation's Screen is big enough for browsing, Sygic Maps will be a breeze, and you can enjoy VID.s on it too.
Plus Android 4 for sensation is already out!

So My suggestion is getting the Sensation. (Hey, that rhymes!)

^^ Agree. Instead of getting two devices for different purposes, get one device which will do it all. Get some time with a Sensation and see if 4.3 inches is OK for you.

well, if one needs portability, tablet won't suite it. even if a tablet weights around 450g but carrying a tablet with you outside and all the time may look strange. so my suggestion is to forget about tablet and grab HTC Sensation while it is available for such low price.

Read the reviews of Playbook, you won't find any playbook user suggesting it to anyone that go and buy it.A lot was expected from BB OS 2.0 but nothing as expected came.
And personally I think if one wants to go for a tab then one should opt for a tab with a screen size of around 10".
Ok now I think you should get the Sensation as you are strict with your budget. That is the best option you have right now.

What abt Kindle Fire + Explorer? Limitations of Playbook are lifted if u put Android on it instead rite?

No, the tablet is only for home use. Like reduce my laptop for all professional needs and use a tablet for browsing and stuff.

The first half of the message was heartening but the second part has got me all worried. I never realized that.

Please correct me if i am wrong. My assumption is, Playbook users complain because of lack of apps when compared to android and ios.

Kindle Fire not sure because i read a lot of mixed reviews as far as browsing is considered. Moreover it is not locally available in India.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. From what i understand all of them have suggested to opt for Sensation. Now i am more confused than what i was when i started this thread.
I had zeroed in on Playbook because it is the only tablet with the most desktop like experience, with the best hardware specs and also available for under 15k. I felt browsing in a 7" screen would be better than 4.3" screen. With everyone giving it a thumbs down i am totally clueless now.

Unlike most of you folks, the problem with me is whether i buy Sensation or Explorer i wouldn't use it very differently. I doubt if i would do justice to a high end phone considering my usage and hence the dilemma.

Would it make sense to buy the tablet now and buy a better android a little later ?

See if you want a tab only then get ipad now and buy any phone for 1-1.5k and then later when you spare money then buy a phone.
Or get a phone now and tab later.
But getting a playbook and a explorer is not a good idea

I agree with aroraanant.
You could go either way:
Get the Sensation Now, get a good (Yet to launch) windows 8 Tablet/iPad later
OR
Get an iPad now (iPad 2 prices have fallen and is a good buy now) and get a phone later, there are many phones, unveiled at the MWC (Check the Sony Xperia P, Xperia Sola, both available between the 20-25K range) that will be launching soon in India.
