Thanks but I'd still say this is/was/will be unnecessary as there's no point in arguing over and over again. Use what you can handle.

ur options shud be interpretted as derivatives of redhat(rpm distros),Debian(apt-dpkg),slackware(.tgz) and gentoo(source compiling)
that yields a better understanding.obviously Debian is ahead in most :))

stop fighting why we people do this again and again u just can't say which is good or which is not good just on the basis of using it if u thing that it is good then it is made for you but u if u don't think it is good that does not mean that, that is bad the only thing is that it is not made for you so use what aver you like don't fight on that .

^may be.but installing gentoo still takes a time compiling all the stuffs.afair.
Sabayon people are already working on entropy.

And anyways this thread doesn't make sense cos there's no such thing. Different distros focus on different things, thus each is the best considering the needs.

Frankly this thread is a waste of time and resource. Sometimes you just dont give one point answer. In Linux its all about how advanced and comfortable are you with Linux skills and that will decide which distro is best for you, this does not emphasis that whats good for me will be good for everybody.

I think we can answer which one is best suited for us, cant we? Just change the thread title to, which is the best distro according to you?
Opinions are exclusively subjective - always.
