Please do not replace the whole set.. may be you can add couple of extra ones. modern meme's would be a nice addition

This reminds me of Gigasmilies.. anyone recall that?

It takes about two clicks more than the method you're suggesting. Not that painful eh?

I hope it doesn't come down to it, but here you go:

Clicking tag is equal to one click. And pasting URL.
Current method is:
1. Clicking "Insert Image" button
2. Clicking "Form URL" tab
3. Pasting the URL (well, this is common)
4. Unchecking the "Retrieve remote file..." option
5. Then pressing OK button.

Not painful? It is.

The essence of smilies will change if the current default set gets changed. We have had these smileys since a looong time.

due to the steps involved in using the buttons to insert a image, I used my macro keys for ease this. copy image, press G1, the image tag gets pasted properly.. Keyboard Logitech G105

^ Raaabo - I guess the time has come to implement it, waiting since long...

And a like/thanks option.

Thanks :)

I'll look into a simpler like system that doesn't count for anything to prevent misuse. That new post thing is hard, and there is no plugin that does it, not that I've found for 4.2.2 at least. Got any example forum where it's been done, or a link to a plugin?

Ico: think that can be done?

Don't uncheck the retrieve... Thing and it's 2 clicks more, that's all :)

The reason I haven't done it is coz it's not an addon bb code, image is inbuilt in vb, so it's not possible to call an image function and then call it again with different parameters... Maybe it is "possible" I just don't think it's worth the effort and trouble to custom code something just for one button to save 2 clicks :(

^^ Yeah, thats ok. We are glad we got tags for Spoiler and other tags. Plus, typing out is geeky enough for me instead of those 5 steps. :P
Also, no need to replace the smileys, but more can be added to the list.

I am missing this feature from ages, and now seriously want this to be implemented. When anybody clicks an unread thread via usercp, if you click on thread title, it just takes to the first page; if you click on the last post icon, it takes you to the last/latest post of that thread. What I want, that it should take you to the post from where it's actually "unread". And it can be simply implemented by binding thread title link to ... -thread-new-post.html

I tried to find things to get this to work, no luck yet.

In USERCP, when there is a new post to a subscribed thread, a little icon appears to the LEFT of the thread title that takes you there (new-post), when there is none, you can either go to the last post or first page, depending on what you want, and this is the way VB designed it to work. Changing this would be tough and could break a lot of other things, but I'll try some more when I get some free time :)

Update: so I noticed [imgg] tag doesn't show image in tapatalk. Maybe tapatalk doesn't support it. So, that was "actually" a turnaround.

Yes, a simpler like system is also what I prefer. To prevent misuse, you can disable/hide the no of likes a user has got. Only likes of a post should be visible, and of course who all liked it.

That new post thing is hard, and there is no plugin that does it, not that I've found for 4.2.2 at least. Got any example forum where it's been done, or a link to a plugin?

I don't remember it in any vB forum, but have seen in IPB. Will search and report if I find similar thing in a vB forum.

Didn't ever care to click that icon, ty for telling. :)

And thanks for your effort too.

Don't forget to like my post by pressing the like button if you like my post.

The thing with such features is, they can be used to rile up members when they are in a debate.

I had enabled reputation system for months, and the result was: "good reply to that idiot. Keep it up."

Ok. Reputation thing is worse, coz the reputation bar/meter will show how good/experienced/famous an user is - as we're showing the rep bar below the user name or avatar.

But here in 'like/+1' feature, we suggest not to show the 'count of likes' for the user received. The 'like' will be limited to that particular comment of the post, and it won't be credited to the user who commented. Though it credits, the admin can hide the 'count of likes' the user received, from viewing by anyone.

I feel, there's a difference..

please keep the forum as it is, no likes and reps
:agreed: It is very likely that members can engage and :argue:

On smilies, besides the troll

But too much of these and you end up with a 4chan like crap site, so the fewer the better

^^ but troll face is needed..
True, that

I can help with VB. With the rep system I guess. I have a forum powered by IPB at the moment and great experience with VB. I'll do some research by the end of this week (got test on sunday) and propose a solution to our like/rep system.
