Hmm,, I'm in same boat... cant wait till Sept & wish to close ~10k...

Let me try to listing out ..

Lenovo A516 (7500rs.), A526 (7800rs),

HTC (Yes HTC) 310 single, (10.7k) only question whether having 1GB RAM or not? *www.gsmarena.com/htc_desire_310-6009.php GSMArena shows both 512 & 1 GB RAM.
Anybody confirm? (Hello rish)

If it is 1GB RAM then nothing like new HTC Desire 310, single seam.

Xperia-M is proven contender here but 4" screen & dual core ruin me to pay 11k (which is +1k than our budget)

Lenovo S660, S650, S820 & LG L70/90 are decent choice for budget upto 15k. Moto is way behind these fleet.

If that's the case, then it's purely stupid of HTC IMO. Apps will use the same amount of RAM, whether the phone is in USA or Asia.

they been doing the same since forever. One S shipping with Scorpion platform rather than Krait. Desire 601 Dual Sim (for Asia only i guess) dropped Qualcomm chipset for Broadcomm.

Look at the Sony Xperia E1, decent phone for around 7K with 2013 midranger specs (minus the 3MP cam)

Right now considering Gionee P4 and Lenovo A526. Also considering extending budget upto 10k just because of Gionee M2's 4200mah battery.
What's your opinion ? What would you buy ?

E1 & A526 are good @ price range but lacking in cam i.e. no auto focus, flash, hd video recording.

Gionee P4 seems good but no hd recording.

M2 having 196 pixel den. quite low- no idea on screen resolution.

Xperial M lightes among all of above with slightly + price, small-4" screen & dual processor.

64bit chipsets are not going to be popular till the end of 2014, maybe even early 2015. There will be no significant performance gain from the start as even KitKat as an OS hasn't been modded to meet 64bit requirements.
Besides, the max RAM on a phone these days is 3GB (on a Samsung Note3 for example), and 64bit support means that 4GB RAM limit can be pushed up significantly. But again, expect only high-end phones to benefit from this.

I have repeated this so many times..

the Performance gain is not going to come from 64 bit at all.. the performance gain is going to come From Arm V8 instruction sets and the fact that Cortex A53 is a heavily upgraded Cortex A7

it essentially performs better than a Revised Cortex A9 R4

so in essence what you will get is very close performance to Krait 200/300 cores found in Xperia M/Lumia 520

by my estimates..
so a 1.2 ghz Cortex A53 core should give same or equal performance as a 1 ghz Krait CPU and for the first time the cores in low/mid end are going to be good enough powerful cores which will be used widely .. only xperia m/l were using krait cores in android under 15k previously

good info rish. this is why sony price feels bit over than other equivalent model. R sony clear market leader in mobile section also?
Does HTC also using krait cpu, as their price is bit overrated even than sony.

Need a minimum of 4.5inch screen, so both E1 and Xperia m are out of the picture

Who is clear winner looking to multimedia phone for teenager group-gaming, browsing, networking, music, photo/video, stylish? Can't wait. Moto A, B, C.....x,y,z is not my cup of tea.

Edit :- Should I consider Xperia T though its old android version can it be updated by sony later?
Spec wise good phone at reducing rate around 10k.

I want to buy a smart phone .

I am confused between Micromax Canvas 2 Colors A120 and Micromax Canvas 2.2 A114

Which is better option.

Also whether use Micromax Canvas 2 Colors A120 with flip cover or back cover (which we get free with the handset)

If there are better options in same price range then plz suggest
