I was in need of good earphones in Rs 500-550 budget.
I did not wanted those in-ear canal type earphones, as I have a peeve for them.

So I short listed

(1) JBL Tempo Earbud [Flipkart price- Rs 509]
JBL Tempo Ear Buds Headphone - JBL: Flipkart.com

(2) Sennheiser MX-170. [Flipkart price- Rs 522]
Sennheiser MX 170 Earphones - Sennheiser: Flipkart.com

Both are very good in this budget, but after researching, got to know that JBL Tempo has better bass than Sennheiser mx-170, but Sennheiser one has better clarity (up and down notes), with adequate bass. (I am not a bass freak.)

Plus, JBL offeres 1 year warranty, where as Sennheiser has 2 years.

So I bought Sennheiser MX-170.

I was waiting for a good deal to come for quite long time, as I know that MX-170 was once selling for around 400, but I was out of patience now.

Although I bought it from shopclues, as I had a 10% off coupon.

So it costed me Rs 478.

I have another Shopclues coupon that I am not gonna use, here:
Coupon Code: SCPT1QPGROWQ
10% off
300 Rs Max discount.

^pics ?

and how they compare to ES18, anybody ?

It is still to be shipped, I just ordered them.

Sound Magic ES18 costs around 700. I was strictly on a tight budgets, and I didn't want in-ear canal type.

I dont know, both seemed same to me. Why do you think Tempo would be more comfy?

the lower rim of the tempo is more curvy than the senny. The sides of the senny are like a bike tyre and can really hurt your ears in the long run without the sponge cover.
