gtx 550 ti and psu

Right off the assembly line
hi everyone

this is my 1st post. I have a asus gtx 550 Ti card ,which according to
nvidia specification needs 400 watt psu with 12v railing giving out 24A

now i have a coolermaster extreme power supply 500w but its 12v railing gives out only 18 A . I cant go for another psu at this moment. My question is can
i continue with my existing psu for a month or so later on i can buy a new psu.
My gtx is being detected in device manager though and showing that its working properly
Please advice .

Thanks in advance

THe PSu shuld handle just fine for now though it depends on the other components you have ie mostly mobo, cpu and number of HDDs and ODDs you have.

I don't think there will be any problem. Your System is pretty low end. CM Extreme can handle it. But there are some reliability issues with it so whenever you get the money replace it with a Cosair, Seasonic or FSP 450W + Unit.

the CM PSU will hold your rig just fine along with the GTX 550TI - if you are not comfortable just use everything at their stock speed and be worry free ;-)

Corsair makes good psus and RMA and after sales service is also good - so if you get a new psu later you can get one from corsair.

Get Corsair.
Quality of PSU & their after sales service is very good, actually unmatched.

I can vouch for this....I'm using Corsair Enthusiast Series™ TX650 V2 — 80 PLUS® Bronze Certified 650 Watt High Performance Power Supply... I have a pair of 550ti working in sli. It has never given me any problems till date. My previuos PSU also was a corsair one.

why are you even considering to buy a gtx 550ti
it is fail
you should look out for a hd 6790 or hd 7770
hell, even a hd 6770 beats it in most games
