Here are some of the suggestions from my end:-

# The most irritating thing about this forum is the width of the pages.. Even they are worse that those ads.. If you increase the width of the pages then it will be of great help as we will be able to read through thread comfortably..

Don't you think its rendering both the purposes, we can see ur Ads at the left hand side and at the same time enjoy the width of the page?

I'm against this idea. Previously numerous times this issue was brought and had been discouraged.

And about smiley, I know that, that is the day it works. But we use : - D rarely. but many members use 8 ) regularly. So, they should change the characters for that smiley.


@azzau, Post counts are making some users to post some irrelevant/useless data occasionally. So, Frequently I think about being on a rep system. But I think it's not fare. Coz.. it don't make any sense. (I mean, won't you listen to the person who has 1 rep power???). But this is just my idea. I know that many members will be against this one.


@raaabo, Thanks for listening. Great to see the forum being kept in a neat way. Now the next objective in this 'Clean the mess-up' mission is to get rid of these filthy Ads.

Vamsi, I don't think ads can be removed.
If the forum is fast and not buggy, I don't think anyone should have probs with ads.
We can bear a few ads I guess 8)

Ads can surely be made to appear only on one side. That will give this forum some width and a better theme would do no harm!

No one is concerned with Ads as long as it don't bother our browsing experience. Now.. Nearly 40% of my screen is wasted because of Ads. And this is not something we find in any tech forum. Let them place text ads after every reply. Which will not bother much.

A humble request to raaabo, Take a look a krazzywarrior's idea. If you do like that it adds much to the eyes when navigating in the forum.

I use Firefox with Adblock enabled,thats why I might not have realized. If thats the case, the forum should be fluid towards the left side and extend upto the screen's edge.

About the QnA section, I was thinking that we can have it under the Software section with the name of 'General QnA'. Making it read only will actually hamper the growth of threads and posts. The only thing which we can do and ask others to do is take care from now on.

Look at the current sections for now, and suggest anything I've missed.

Some forums are locked as read only, I would like the other mods/admins help to start re-organising content.

Will start doing it myself over the weekend, but for now I'm going to be missing a few days planning the Feb issue of Digit.

Patience till then.

Will work on the theme and the Ajax as soon as I can.

ohh, and yes In gaming section Rather than Casual gaming , Mobile gamin would be great or an additional section about mobile gaming(mobile , PSP , etc... gameboy)

Here are some suggestions regarding the sections that u made..

# Discussions sub-section's name should be reverted back to Chit-Chat.

# Please add Internet sub-section in that Caught in WWW section.. Members can discuss about browsers,websites and other internet related thing in that sub-section..

# Caught in the WWW forum should be above Education and Career Guide forum

# Need Some Active Mods so that we can move thread(QnA sections & Others) to correct section..

First, please restore our forum width. Ads are fine with me, but annoying ads are not. Please remove the BenQ rollover ad. A simple banner is as noticeable. This is almost like NVIDIAGeek increasing post font size to grab people's attention, except that it is much worse. Seems like a cheap gimmick, nothing more.

If not, PLEASE, no ads on the sides and in between posts. cyberjunkie is a member at TE and the ads are much better managed there. It will do us no harm to take a leaf or two out of their book. One last compromise maybe something like keep the forum as is in terms of ads for those not logged in. Once we log in, keep ads only above the first post and user CP, etc buttons and also below the quick reply box. I come to this forum for reading and once logged in, I would like ads to be secondary and not in-your-face type.


We need active mods. Please look into this. Also, MORE so, we need active admins.

Please add an image resize feature like at TE. If any image is wider than the forum width as on any monitor, then it is resized to a width which is viewable easily, with a button on top to view it full size.

More suggestions will come up from me later.

And yeah, I think someone should move the Gaming News Channel thread to the News section under Games sub-forum. Also, my vote is for Kirsch theme.

Thanx raaaboo and cyberjunkie for your effort. Its nice to see everything changed.

1. Please increase the forum width.

2. What is the difference between Software QnA and Solution in Software section??

3. What are the purpose of single sub forums within Hardware QnA and Bazaar under Hardware section??

4. Please look into the image hosting feature, doesn't works well.

5. As said by Krow try to introduce image resizing picture.

6. I've no problems with ad's. I know its necessary. But place them strategically.

7. We need more active mods(The only one I see is Anorion).

8. Look into rules and regulation section. Make it more strict and change whereever necessary.

Raaabo is doing all the work. I'm suggesting a few things here and there. I'll try and answer a few questions..

The Solution is like the Discussions subsection under Hardware. It's for discussing about software and not so much about troubleshooting software problems. Those queries belong in the Software Q&A section.

Online Services subsection is for that kind of discussion. Browser discussion can go into Software solution.

I Want... (read only) is for people who are looking for particular hardware to buy but isn't listed in the main section. It's avoid any confusion.

Raaabo's FORUM RULES thread will be updated once we make all of the necessary changes and fixes. It'll have the explanations needed for the sections and subsections.

One more bug : I dunno if this happens to all, but sometimes the server responds late. It takes about 30seconds to load pages (even forum index). Its a random thing, with no pattern.

Good to see moderator field added at the end of forum index. Hope to see it filled though.
