Ok, +4% VAT. ;) But still, this is "THE" best bang-for-buck card right now. Annihilates everything within the price range, and many above the range as well.

^ Just a note: This is not a factory overclocked card, but it can be tweaked to a good extent. It goes head on with the ATi 4870 1GB DDR5 card (my present card), and reviews say it beats red in many games. (Check reviews for this specific model).

What does the square sign above GTS 260 mean ? Is it dual GPU...?

Can someone post comparison with 4870 please...? Or a link should help..!! :)

that means it is the second edition of GTX260 and it has 216 SP's. The second edition was released to compete with HD4870.

Like DesiiBond said, it's the second edition of GTX 260. The 1st release had 192 processing cores, the second one (this squared one) has 216 cores, which increases its processing power considerably.

Squared doesn't have anything to do with dual GPU. It's just a branding thing for Zotac. E.g. EVGA simply calls their 2nd edition GTX 260's "c216".

Btw, it beats the 4870 1GB in many games.

Here's a complete review comparing the two:

TOP 10 GAMES: GTX 260 (c216) vs HD4870 1GB

As of now, in India, the cheapest 4870 1GB you can get is for 14,000. And this one is 4k cheaper, with better performance in most of the 6 games in the above review. A much better deal. Plus you get better drivers than ATi usually comes up with, plus you can overclock the GTX260 fairly well. Personally, I'm hugely in favor of this card over the 4870 1GB.

^^^^ Thanks for the answer pal. I was just going to seal my deal for 4870 by selling 3870X2 that i have presently.

Now i think i will go ahead with GTX 260² .... You made my day..! :)

WTF is happening to ATi and Nvidia?

I just hope this battle does not get over anytime soon! At least till my PC upgrade time. LOL.

^ Rest assured it won't. Prices of these cards are going to reduce a bit more, if I'm making realistic guesses. I wouldn't be surprised if I saw a GTX 260 selling for 8-8.5k ish a month or two from today.

Imagine what two of these, in SLI, amounting to about 17-18k would do? Easy guess there. ;)

this is old, the new GeForce drivers are just simply too awesome, and th latest one increases performance by 10% on avg. tht's amazing!!

F@CT remains however, that abroad HD4870 1GB is same price or even lower. Only nVidia priced its GPU with US prices in India. I am happy for that.

Shall I consider upgrading now over my 8800 GTS 512 SLI? Will it give a better performance? Right now I can max out all games at 1680x1050 except Crysis and GTA IV.

@Sunny, when your 8800GTS SLI couldn't play 60% of games at high settings, then consider upgrade. Right now, 8800GTS SLI is good enough for another year. Then an upgrade will be much more worthy than now!!
