Weird Thoughts Thread

So lately I have been feeling little philosophical. Started having some strange or weird thoughts about life and all. I started documenting them until I have a few to share. I will start with couple of them and my elaborate thoughts about it.

I am wondering whether you guys have some such similar weird thoughts to share?

Let me begin...

1. Catching factor of our Eyes:
So I have been thinking why does we tend to focus on eyes whenever we meet someone. (Even animals). Yes we do look at other features of the body (IYKWIM). But we tend to focus on eyes first, instinctively. We don't even learn this. Even a new born baby/child, tend to focus on her mother's eyes when she plays with him. What's so 'catching' in our eyes!?

2. All the deleted characters? Where have you gone?
We all have done it. We type something on our PC (or mobile devices). And when we do a typo, we correct ourselves by pressing backspace. I wonder where does all the deleted characters go. Do they land in some character afterlife? Do they talk among themselves about how unlucky they were not to be a participant of an article/post or a blog?

3. All stages of life are in front of us, but we only choose to focus on some:
This is really an allegory of the phrase, "we only see what we want to". Let's think for a moment. When we were kids, we only use to focus on other childrens. Did we focus on that person who was traveling on bus with you to his job? You probably didn't. But there he was, sharing a ride with you.

You started to do a job. You started to travel from bus. You see a school kid. You realize, there were always some person who was going to job with you. Now, did you notice that person in his car rushing towards somewhere, who honking towards bus in which you were traveling?

Later in your life, you get a call from your friend. He met with an accident and he admitted in a hospital. You started to rush towards hospital in your car. Someone else on the same road, probably failed to notice your sense of urgency, is not willing to give you a side. Probably 'now' you realize you are the one honking towards him and the other person probably don't realize that.

I hope I could have explained the last one. I meant, everything is here, within us. But we don't realize until we find ourself in the same situation and stage of our life.

Yea, these are few things which makes me wonder sometimes. Will share more later...

Some examples and instances would have been useful. Also, looks like not many wonders about the points I wrote.

Oh well...

1. there's study on that subject => Men notice a woman's eyes, smile and then breasts according to research by Murine | Daily Mail Online

just me, eyes and smile can't lie, no matter how hard you try. eyes can pass the feelings of a person. it's just not a look, it's a feeling. eyes and smile are used to express interest in opposite sex. that's where i believe the phrase 'hasi to fasi' came from.

2. all the different characters goes to different places, depends on whom you asking.
Where Do Deleted Characters Go?

3. that's the thing about pain, it demands to be felt. if you don't feel it, you don't know what the hell it is and how much the 'pain' is. so until you don't go through that particular situation you don't understand that 'view'. it applies to too many things. i feel i didn't actually contributed to what you talked about.

1st point -> like @HumanBot said, there's been a study on that subject.

2nd point -> They probably stick around in the memory(RAM) for some time. Then they are lost due to a number of physical phenomena.

3rd point -> "That's the thing about pain, it demands to be felt." Really liked that book man! Anyways, getting to the answer, its all about your ability and willingness to shift your perception.

About 4 days ago I stopped at a traffic light and after a few moments there was a knock on my side window. There was a kashmiri person asking for money and when I gave him a few rupees he asked for 500 in order to go back home. Since the light went green I said nothing and just moved on but when I see on my side view mirror I saw that person face was down and he was looking certainly sad. I am still not able to make sure if that person was genuine or not.

For the second point, they are present in the cache memory of that particular application for as long as the cache memory is there. Once the application is closed the memory is released. Garbage collector and other technicalities. :p
Also, the larger the cache the more number of characters/actions are stored. That is how you Undo/Redo actions in applications.

For the other points, I'd like to sit at a keyboard and accumulate my thoughts first. That'd take sometime. I guess those are human nature. And your question questions that very nature.

I like this post.

There are more such weird thoughts apart from the 3 listed in my post. So you guys don't have any weird thoughts on your own? I mean not copied from somewhere else, just in your mind? I usually notice that if I don't note down the weird thought I come across, I usually forget. So I quickly note it down in my phone.

Anyway, more such weird thoughts that crossed my mind at some point of time:

4. Smoking warning in real life:
I thought about this probably while watching the "smoking is dangerous intro" before start of a movie in the theater. What if we (or only the smokers) start to see the signs of smoking "in real life", how would they react? Will they feel bad or will they ignore it just like they ignore the pics on the pack of cigarette pack.
I mean, suppose someone starts to smoke, and the other person can actually watch how smoking is impacting his lungs through some kind of xray vision or something. Imagine the person starts to see perils of other such habits like drinking in the person, wherever he go. Plot for a short film? Sure sounds like. Weird.

5. The Irony of Myself:
This is different than the point 3 I made above. Here I am saying that we often become the person we despise at some point of life. For eg, when we are child we don't like how our parents often scold us of watching TV for extended period of time. Once we grow up, we (would) scold our child for playing too much games. Deja Vu much?

At some point I hated if someone talks on phone while watching a movie with me. Yet often times we do the exact thing which we despise without realizing. I don't have a better example. But I think I made my point. Why so many people lack the "perception view", as I like to call it?

Another part of this point is, we often suggest others how to be happy, yet we ourselves submerge in sadness. Why!

6. Dog bark: No problem, Cat meow: Big problem:
This is based on actual events that I observe. Usually when dogs bark in night in the street, no one bash an eye. Yet if a single cat does meow, it's called bad omen and everyone starts to make noise so that cat can be made ran away. Umm.. why exactly! Isn't it weird?

More later...

have done about 40 of them
there are over 250 forts, 600+ "interesting spots"

went with these guys
*www.facebook.com/pages/Kalpavihar-Adventure/111149755609429 > people of all ages, invariably organize a bus, every year they organize one for blind children
Vrangers > young people, go to some off beat places, mostly use public transport
Sahyadri Treks | Trek Mates India > young people, mostly use public transport
शिखर वेध | Shikhar Vedh | Join a trek and change your life! > this group is into linux and sanskrit, totally non profit, money is at times returned after the trek (the others pool profits and donate to schools or get equipment), often organize private transport if strength is good

there used to be green carpet (they were most relaxed group), but don't know about their whereabouts now, their web site stopped being active some time in 2013
there also used to be youngsterz but that group splintered
there was plenty of overlap of the same crowd who came with all the different groups

best places are harishchandragad, kalsubai, rajmachi, prabalgad and vasota (don't think permission is given any more for Vasota)

More Weird/random thoughts in my mind lately:

7. What if a guy gives a demo about loading a video which is loading and that video loads itself while we watch that loading on YT: Loadception!

8. If singing is controlled by a different part of brain.. how about if the guys who have a speech problem (stammer or something else) starts to sing whenever they need to say something?

Have you seen The Kings speech ??
The speech therapist actually suggest the method . but how akward and uncomfortable it would be if people did it all the time ..

That actually works for stammers too, I think.

And another fact, accents get neutralized when you sing to a tolerable extent.
