Trouble booting windows

Zangetsu

I am the master of my Fate.
My system was working fine with 3 OS - Ubuntu 11.10, win 7, win XP, till recently. My friend worked on it last time after which I'm not able to work on win 7 & win XP. When win 7 boots up it comes up with a msg that explorer has stopped working. When win XP boots up, just the desktop appear without any icons. When I tried to initiate explorer through task manager in both OS it failed. How can I shoot this trouble?

ask your frnd what he did which lead to this problem..

also do a system repair using the OS disk while booting

how can he even run ccleaner when explorer is not working.

and yes^^ ccleaner is housekeeping utility not a rescue software.

run auto repair from win7 disc. later do same for xp.

if u get stuck with boot entries after repair...use easybcd to restore old boot menu for xp/7/ubuntu.

and do install av after that. ur system is infected for sure...thats why explorer got corrupted in case ur buddy didnt do anything.lol

This is how I used cc cleaner. I went to task manager. Then at the time of executing a new task from file menu, I browsed to the location where I had downloaded the cc cleaner while I was using Ubuntu just before booting into win this time.
I'll do the next thing as told and let you know. But I fear I'm not that strong to repair boot entries. But regarding AV my doubt still presists. As I told earlier I'm using MSE regularly updated in win 7 & avira regularly updated in win XP. Do you say they are not good

Hi friends, give me a week time as I'm now in a transient state. I'm transferred to another place n would need atleast a week to settle down
