Re: Mobile Buying Guide: January 2013

Bro my budget is 8500k maximum .i wanna buy android phone which is better phone according to you. I'm just checking karbonn a11 & a9+. How is this ? Tell me which one should i buy? I want long term phone.

first decide if you want more power or upgradable to latest version of Android without completely sacrificing power.

Hi Guys,

I am thinking to get my first Android smartphone (upgrading from my current Nokia 1280).

My main usage will be Google maps and some quizzes, puzzles and games like temple run.
I do not plan to root the mobile.
Camera, Looks and Brand value are not priorities, but performace (speed\no lagging) is.
My budget cap is about 12K.

I have shortlisted Karbonn A21, Xolo A700 and Andi 4.5h.

Among this, Andi roughly costs 3K more than the other two, but offers 1GB ram. The flipside is the 1600 mAh Battery.

Do you think it is worth spenidng 3K extra and getting Andi 4.5, or should I go with Xolo 700 and save 3K?

Other than what I have already shortlisted, should I consider any otehr models?
In the 12K bracket, which mobile have the best performance?

Thanks
--Anoop

why not Micromax A110? of late everyone seem to go for A110. but 1GB ram can be a deal breaker considering my age old mobile with a crappy ARM11 processor and HVGA resolution display leaves only 200MB as free ram out of 512MB. Decide between MMX Canvas 2 & Andi 4.5h.

PS: Thank you sam for the wonderful guide.

my pleasure :)

Thank you Sam. I am not considering A110 because the pixel density is very low.

Between A110 and 4.5h, I will go with 4.5h. Will 4.5h support JB or the future versions of Android?

ppi of A110 is not extremely low but 200+ is always better.

I can bet iball will never release any update. A110 may receive Android 4.1 update but chances are slim at best.

heard A68 lacks GPS, wifi hotspot also along with no 3G. If you are ok, go ahead with it.

hey SAMY Galaxy S Advance is upgradable to 4.0 but you have written 2.3
And ONE S has Adreno 225 and you have witten 220. Also Xperia SL should be in 25-30k category I guess

and if you were to choose between L9, S Advance what would you choose?
how about Xperia P with 8mp camera? Does it satisfies the price gap?
I need this for a friend......

Bro my budget is 8500k maximum.
bro 8500k=₹8,500,000 (to my best knowledge 1k=1000)

Android 4.1 not 4.0 and the update is only available in Russia, for now.

is it? AFAIK Krait has 225 or so. will check.
SL is available at adexmart for 24990

GSMArena has rated L9's camera quality as poor (lower than Xperia P). Expected at this price. So camera lovers better stay away from L9. But performance wise, L9 should easily take a lead against Xperia P & S Adv.

Krait version of One S has 225 which is not available in india..but One S C2, the one which is quoted as One S here has adreno 220 gpu..so the info in mobile buying guide is right..:)

yeah that's only the problem other wise L9 is simply a RockStar. check this: LG Optimus L9 Gaming Video - iGyaan - YouTube

And do you agree that One S is better than Xperia P ?

let the game download data but cancel it after a minute. now you have folders ready. just match the folders and copy the data folder into appropriate place but just be sure you are downloading data for the correct resolution. BTW which mobile are you using?

check if you downloaded the data for correct resolution. i am not good in fixing problems related to making games work in android. but either the data is in wrong place or you downloaded it for wrong resolution.

first of all, respect to Sam's reply on the same..he has vast knowledge of mobiles and computers..so no offense.:)

well, L9 performs slightly better than S Advance and XP but the difference not that much marginally..benchmarks are good on the paper while comparing these three phones having same cortex a9 1ghz cpu to be honest..

Xperia P Gaming
Shadowgun
Asphalt 7

i hv personally completed shadowgun, nova3, asphalt 7 myself on XP without any lag.. ;) modern combat 4 n max payne on the way..;) so if i were u i would go wid Xperia P as i will additionally get HDMI connectivity, USB OTG functioning, good 8 mp shooter and solid feel..

advantages of L9 over XP, big screen (but low in ppi as shares same resolution with XP) and good battery backup..

if u put One S in the league, then it will beat these three phones in every benches marginally..that will be real comparison..:)

see this one too..almost matching..

m showing these videos coz even if u put money on XP, u won't regret..:)

so chose wisely..that's what i think..:)

Re: Mobile Buying Guide: January 2013

I just give my Xperia U to my sister and am looking for a new mobile too......I found this Xperia P in ebay Brand New Sony Xperia P LT22i Android,1GHz Dual Core 4" Screen 8 MP camera WIfi | eBay which is price at rs. 16,800, the price is really good but I haven't buy anything from ebay and I am not sure whether I should go for it or not...kindly suggest.. this cost around rs. 22,400 in local market....

ebay doen't sell anything its the re-sellers on their website.
And with this offer I am 200% sure you won't get Genuine Warranty but the seller will offer you Reseller Warranty (don't know how that might help in case of any trouble) . Also I am not sure if its a Genuine and Unused model because the original rate is 23k

thanks a lot bro!!!!!!!!! You seems quite satisfied with your droid so I guess that won't trouble me(my friend to be exact) either.

But the price of Xperia P is more than L9 and S Advance.

whats your opinion with HTC One S.
P.S.- Sadly it doesn't has the S4 processor and Adreno 225 GPU in India

Whats your take on Xperia P's battery life ? Does it lass 24hrs with min. data and few photos and gaming? Or I will have to get something like this also :http://www.flipkart.com/nokia-dc-16-charger/p/itmdazuhemnchwyg?pid=ACCDAZTUJFC6VRZ5
