Glad someone made this thread. India does not have album culture. Good to see people seeking out albums as opposed to a la carte songs.

yes, was going to write something similar. before the advent of online/digital music access, we used to buy so many cassettes and later CDs. those times of the 90s, when there was still music in the air, and in the stores. ;)
had a large collection of cassettes of albums, as well as a few 'a la carte' songs recorded on some cassettes.

although i find it very occasional that an album would have songs most of which i find i like (and am very happy if that's the case!), there indeed are/were some. some which i can instantly recall right now:

Junoon (all albums, esp. Azadi and Parvaaz)
Sound Trek
Lucky Ali's Sifar
Albums from 'Euphoria'
Ali Haider's album that had 'Puraani jeans' song
Def Leppard's X
Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of the Moon
Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms
Seagram's Bagpiper '100 Pipers'
Rahul Sharma's 'Time traveller', 'Kashmir', and one more old album whose name i forgot, and can't find its mention online
The best of U2
Iron Maiden's 'Brave New World', 'Dance of Death', 'A Matter of Life & Death'
S&M 1, S&M 2 - an absolute essential Metallica series!
MPM soundtracks (retro-synth), as well as those from Mitch Murder, Lazerhawk, and some more.
Tears for fears - all albums!
Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - Greatest hits
Foster the People - 'Torches' (Could like only a few from their other album, 'Supermodel')
Lakshya OST
Battlefield 3 OST
Hevia's albums
Commandos 2 OST
Armed & Dangerous OST
Linkin Park's older albums
Paradise Lost
Bombay Vikings' 1st album
All songs/albums by late Hari Om Sharan (simple & melodious devotional songs,
sung in his seemingly effortlessly seraphic voice!)

kept recalling all of them as i started writing; and there are some more. would write as and when i recollect. ofcourse, more to be discovered, esp. those whose only 1-2 tracks i have listened to and liked, and still many to be uncovered basically from the retro time-period, understandably. :)
