Should I buy Sony Xperia SL @ Rs.21600/- ?

As for the CPU, I compared it with Xperia SL, which has 1.7 GHz dual core. And is the chipset nice? (Sorry, but I haven't heard of it)?
That's one of the most well known chipsets from 2012, its a nexus chipset, hence flagship(google), a few devices using it are, LG Optimus L9, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" and 10.1, Droid Razr, SGS II(G edition) etc etc, the problem with the nexus is due to high res screen the chipset will fall short, specially the GPU, the CPU is good enough though, Nexus is a solid 20k device as far as pure performance and features go, but go over that and it starts to lose its cool, but here's the point, SL goes for 26k, not 21k, OP is talking about a sketchy deal at best, so nexus doesn't have to compete with SL. Xperia P(bar the pathetic battery) plus no warranty support makes the nexus a bad deal for 20k, specially when the much much faster Nexus 4 can be had of for only 26k. Nexus is good for 15k at best atm.

Ofcourse it is !! Heard of Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and LG Optimus L9 ? Well , FYI , they have the same chipset as the GNexus. And most people dont actually bother about the chipset , as long as the user interface is smooth and lag-free. Besides , TI OMAP chipsets are known for their overclocking capabilities. For eg, the L9 can be overclocked to around 1.3 Ghz.

Well, lets see the features that don't attract me to this phone :
1) it is old (october 2011)
2) while the internal is 16GB, there is no card slot.
3) camera is 5 MP with 24fps.
4) A chipset, which I have never heard of
5) Low processing power
6) No Radio support
7) No GLONASS support

All the comparisons were made in contrast of Sony Xperia SL (since they both fall very much in the same price bracket). :p

FYI It has Texas Instrument OMPA 1.2Ghz dual core processor which is also found in Galaxy S II I9100G. Xperia SL has too old Snapdragon S3 scorpion processor (same as early 2011 HTC sensation) overclocked to 1.7Ghz. You can get nexus phone for 18k in grey market. Generally android enthusiast who prefer nexus devices because of stock ROM, to get all the future updates first and ability to experiment in it.
Can I ask you what you will do of high processing power? Do you play HD games in it? Believe it man when you use galaxy nexus you will say it is even smoother and snappier than quad core HTC One X and Galaxy S3 in general tasks. Because software of nexus devices are better optimised for android devices by google itself. Camera on both phones are almost same, who do photography with a cell? 12MP is just gimmicky, performance is average. You will never get key lime pie android 5.0 in Xperia SL officially. In the end of the day. It is your choice on what you spend money. If you love to play HD games, listen radio and want 32GB on phone get Xperia SL for sure.

Have you used Galaxy Nexus?

Hell yeah! Finally you both guys on right track. Order Nexus 4..!! It has 2GB RAM, quad core krait S4 processor same as Xperia Z (that will cost 35k+).
You will be tension free about the future updates as nexus devices receives first. You can laugh on your friends/colleague who are using earlier versions of android. Imagine you are using improved key lime pie 6 months before it will come in phones like xperia z and GS IV. Forget Xperia SL. It is old wine in new bottle with no future.

not again!

Will you take personal responsibility if something happens due to it?

I had been burned once before, yes, I will buy a nexus as soon as I join my job and sell the L9 by may/june, cause I understand the risks and am willing to take it, but I will point the issues out when suggesting it to others, always, let them make their own decisions.

PS: Earlier a few people claimed warranty will be provided by LG India:

So question is how many will buy a device with no warranty for 23k?

And also number of owners suffering from issues:

lol I'm just giving useful suggestions. I'm not responsible for anything happen.
Nexus 4 is a great phone but still its an electronic device. I recently read a XDA user whose screen cracked due to falling had been replaced by LG India for 4700 bucks.
People will guts and enthusiasm are buying Nexus 4 like this. It's personal choice to get it or regret it. Buying some other low performing phone just for a year warranty satisfaction.

This is a viable option for those who have relatives or friends abroad, my cousin sister is in UK, due to arrive by sept/oct, also another relative lives in USA(he has 2 nexus 4, for him and the missus), he'll probably come this oct as well, I'll get a nexus imported by him, either the tab or the phone.

How much is the nexus 4 in UK?

It is a long time to get in oct. Nexus 5 will be on the edge to launch at that period. You should buy it in this summer (may/june). The price of 16GB model in UK playstore is £279.

Is Xperia SL compatible with CyanogenMod?
Check here: Xperia S Android Development - xda-developers

All Xperia S kernels will work with SL its just that unless you use an OC script, the CPU will run at 1.5GHz, rather that SL's 1.7GHz, but the hardware is identical.

OK. So here's another piece of advice that I got from my friends, that I should wait for MWC 2013, and watch out for handsets in this price bracket. Hopefully, some device will beat Sony Xperia SL.

a mobile that gets launched in WMC will take anywhere from 3 to 6 months to hit the stores.
