Sata +pata help

Broken In
i have a PATA hard disk of 40Gb and i want to connect it along my SATA Hd .. my motherboard has a PATA connection port too .

So would some one plz tell me how to do it.

how to set the jumber for slave and master driver
how to change settings in the BIOS if necessary

Lastly is it possible ~~ if yes plz enlighten me with the knowledge

its right there, next to the hd connectors.
there must be a pin diagram showing how to do it.
post pics of your hdd's

sata HDD should be given first preference as master. for the bios part, a pic of the bios will be required. you just have to change priority for the HDDs.

@ - keep the jumper of pata HDD in either cable select or master mode - connect both HDD to the mobo and do what sam has told you ;-)

even if OP sets the jumper of the IDE drive as master ( sometime bios just won't detect if the jumper is set as slave mode of the IDE HDD along with a sata HDD ) he can always change the HDD boot priority from within bios option.

I've this kind of mixed setup back in 2007 - only faced booting issue with fedora linux but open suse and windows OS worked well ;-)
