What happened to the popular and most demanded thing from non-subscribers or news stand buyers of digit ?

It looks like demands from non-subscribers are not important.

I saw the contents from the issue on stands, no point getting Ubuntu 10.04 beta, when the stable is releasing today.
Not if you have a horrible Internet Connection. You should be able to update it rather than have to download the whole distro.

I have a 256 Kbps (night speed 512 kbps) connection, so its pretty decent. I dont use these distros much so I just install it and change it every three months, I am okay with downloading the whole distro dvd as I have a storage capacity of more than 2.5 TB (including external and internal hdds), so even that is not an issue, plus I have a dedicated system just for downloading stuff from the internet 24X7  ...so in short I did rather spend the Rs.150/- on something else than Digit...I anyways dont buy it each month and ever since last month (after the Subscribers Special Issue), I have totally stopped buying it.

Emphasis on the word "I". What you have , others might not be blessed with. I'm not going to justify whether giving Ubuntu out was a good decision or not. However I wish that sometimes there would be a once in a while 64 bit distribution. More emphasis on Open Source Software. Tutorials and reviews which would cultivate the adoption of Open Source etc.

Previously a Magazine made a customized Distribution, why can't Digit have its own customized Distribution or Open Source Software. I know coming out of the blue that's a huge request but still I think it would only benefit the Magazine in the long run.

Anyway that's just my 2 cents.

^Good suggestions there. Tell you what, instead of putting in the DVD version of Ubuntu, which is just a waste of space, I'll slip in the 64 Bit CD version along with the 32 Bit version. Sounds like a good idea?

This sounds very nice to me. However it might disturb folks who don't have a good Internet Connection.
