where is august issue feedback thread.
nothing changed in the mag except a holier-than-thou executive editor. he had me splitting with his phony replies in letters section.
I'll post the August Feedback and preview thread later. our new editor too "nice" for you?

in the editorial they were harpping on ancient bio-metrics and all those security measures. reminded me of decade old hollywwod movies with wesley snipes gauging the eyeballs of a guard and getting access with the retina-scan. fingerprints are so easy to fake and so is tampering with the voice.
Ancient? In movies it was Sci-Fi. Today it's "becoming" a reality!

with the conventional passwords, if you ask me how many times did i change it i will tell how many times did my data have been compromised. not once and not once respectively. i just got this from a newsmagazine in the context of rapes a few weeks ago and i guess is relevant here too - while you should be cautious, dont live in fear.
Someday you will grow up and get a job! Then your security will dictate the security of your company. Try explaining to your boss how company secrets were leaked from you because you weren't careful, by saying "But it never happened before
!"

fast track series is not worth the paper it get printed on. just the rehashed content with hardly anything new.
We can't please the world, but there are thousands who will disagree with you. Of course hopefully we can release a book that will interest you every now and then too!

in linux distributions comparision, you said even microsoft should learn a thing or two from xandros partitioning system. you didnt even give a snapshot or cared to elaborate on it. so you write articles and we are simply supposed to take your word for it.
Totally valid point and it was already pointed out to the concerned writer, copy editor and designer!

articles by robert smith is more of a comedy than anything else.
I'll assume that you mean that I'm funny. Thanks

there must be something wrong with me why i buy this mag without even gaining much. maybe i have got way useless cash to spare and time to boot.
Perhaps. Or, then again, perhaps you still like more of the magazine than you are willing to admit to.

Here are some errrors in this month's digit :
Pg no.1 - Editorial, line 6 on 2nd paragraph - flier and not flyer.
Pg no.10 - Contents Interactive - Under Digital Tools - Internet - there are 2 bullets for one program - IE 6 cumulative & vulnerablity patch for windows XP.
Pg no.10 - Contents Interactive - Under Digital Buisness, the descriptions of the 1st 2 e-bookshave been interchanged.
Pg no 10 - Contents Interactive - Under Digital Leisure - Ebooks - The Joke E-book is corrupted.
Pg no.11 - Contents Interactive - Under Digital Passion, the photo under the 1st product 'AppletFile 5.0' looks unrelative as theres no symblo related to the name of the product...
Pg no.12 - The AD of Digit Forum - The Page has been modified and isnt the actual page we see online.
Pg no.12 - The poll doesnt contain all the options that are online.
Pg no.20 - In 'BEAT THAT !' - the name of the company which publishes the prize has 'pte' instead of 'pvt' for the word private.
Pg no.42 - In Clusty's Picture, we can see the DOB of Britney within below the ellipse drawn on the side clusters.
Pg no.48-49 - Under Visual Explaination, We press the '+' key between the nos. we type but in the 'How' section it is being pressed after we type both nos, That is, its explained that we are entering 34+ instead of 3+4 as usual we type in our calculators. (Read the article step by step and u will understand).
Pg no.80-81 - I congratulate DIGIT for at last publishing an error free article on 'A-list'.
Pg no.133 - In the 4th Question, the correct option 'Vista' isnt given...
In General :
Digit has become a soft po*n mag.
Seeing its 'Tabloid Tech' one can prove it...
Bout the 'Fast Track'
(I never scanned it for Errors yet)
Digit's pic for spam mails is a very bad one as one can read the words 'Impress your girl with a huge Cu*shot'.
Digit's pics for p*rn on the net has been manually blurred and censored, I wonder who did that ?
Also, was it neccesary to introduce what p*rn is ?
People will now have an idea bout its existance and will be tempted to visit them...
CD :
I didnt check much for Errors yet, but I found 2 :
The link for Winamp and Quicktime, both dont work !
Srry for any inconvinence caused by this post.
Yrs Always,
QM - The Typokiller

It's Frequent Flyer, not flier. Flier is American English, and as you will see in the rest of the magazine, we use British English.
The joke Ebook works fine here. Try it again.
The Applet file 5.0 logo is on that image, but agreed it's too small. I guess you don't like pretty girls, and our designer does
Seriously though, we'll change that from here on! Point accepted!
The forum page was modified very recently due to member demands. unfortunately the magazine went to print much before.
I updated the poll online, and I guess I screwed up. Apologies! Since so many have already voted, let's leave it the way it is. I guess you don't like my sense of humour with the addition of the additional option.
In India the abbreviation is Pvt. In Singapore it is Pte. There's nothing we can do, as we are not allowed to change what companies decide to call themselves across the world. Perhaps you should write to the Singapore government!
The Clusty screenshot has a caption below that says: "Clusty's clusters—on the left—are often useful, but when we asked it when Britney was born,
Born to make you happy DOMINATED the results"
In the Visual Explanation, the leader to the story says, "Here we illustrate a simple addition of two numbers, 3 and 4. The visual depicts functioning of a microprocessor during the addition process,
irrespective of the data entry sequence
Thanks for the A-list
Thanks for pointing out the Longhorn/Vista mistake. Apologies!
As for the soft porn, I suggest you go out and buy a soft porn mag and then perhaps you will be able to tell the difference.
Have you never seen a spam mail with an indecent header? My 7 year old neighbour gets such e-mails in his account, and though he may not know the meaning of half the words, he sure has learnt to delete spam without batting an eyelid!
Porn accounts for almost half the surfing that the Indian online community does. I think perhaps you are slightly more conservative than you should be. not talking about it will not make it go away. It's like saying "Shhhh... NEVER say AIDS! Let's not talk about AIDS and P*rnography, or for that matter Sex. (OMG I used the S** word!)
Who are we kidding? At least Digit is being straight with you...
Anyway, I think you're trying to nit-pick!
