Ya.2000+ bucks is too much for that.But i need it to measure the power wattage consumed by my various appliances.
Crescent and power meter are really two different things.watt meter will tell you the wattage consumed by an appliance( and optionally will calculate units and cost also) while crescent as listed claims to be a power saver.I don't know whether it really saves electricity..

Yes dx (dealextreme) is totally legit. Ordered a couple of times. Takes forever to ship , the quality may not be spectacular though.
