damages : $9.99 + 3.39 for sheeping :D

+ bought hdmi cable for installation @ 90/-
+ ordered heat sink for the same @ 30/-
+ thinking of purchasing a class 6 / 10 micros SD.

it's cheap & open source. on the same time, harder to user due to having a relative low number of people in community and lack of support from manufacturer. However, as long as there is armbian, it will work well.

hardware is not as sophisticated as raspberry pi, but its open source and you are free to do whatever you want. booting is quite challenging as well, many people complain about not being able to boot, but i was able to boot it with some tips and tricks on the 2nd day of trying, so, feeling happy !

what is there to post.... it will be full of wires on the gpio headers. and this thing runs really hot, i want to do something about underclocking it, but not sure how to do it.

well, if you want to hear stories, here is the trial and error story so far :
first time i tried to boot it, i did not know how to power this thing, it came with an weird 4mm unconventional dc jack, and probably very few people have pin for that except this manufacturer. i was hesitant to solder wires on the pin of connectors - found thats how people normally solve this issue. but i kept on searching, some people suggested to power it through gpio, so i prepared wires for those & connected to samsung 5V fone charger.

started from a 2gb micro sd card, but it did not boot, lights were off also. i was thinking it was doa, then went to forums searching for answers, found people recommending class 10 8 gb cards with 2-3 amp 5V very good quality power supply. i have nothing of that sort, still i changed the fone charger from samsung to lenovo, even though they are same 1A chargers. failed again. so i kept on searching through google, in some forums they said to power it from PC 5V rail, i kinda ignored it. didn't really want to open up pc cabby and go through all that dust for this.

then i had a few lm7805 linear regulators. linear supplies are very clean, so i thought to give it a go. connected to 12V lead acid through it, to gpio, and tried again. failed.

so i pulled off the 8gb card from my fone, deleted everything and tried booting from it, a led slightly blinked and went off. after trying some more time i pulled off the keyboard cable from usb port and tried. finally it booted.
