@amjath, thanks. I am using the Raspberry Pi as a NAS. 4 external hard drives totaling 4.5TB are connected to the Pi with the help of a powered USB hub. I also use it as a download workstation running Transmission and Jdownloader 24x7. Its ideal for this purpose since power draw is just around 3.5W.

@nikhilsharma007nikx, I don't understand what you are asking. Yes I bought it from HobbyKing.

@NIGHTMARE, thanks buddy. Not much to say about the Pi except that after all these years I have finally found an ideal low power low cost NAS solution and I am just thrilled. The most important feature for me is that the Pi can run X11 server which means there is a proper linux desktop GUI interface and not just CLI. This allows me to run a browser and keep my internet connection logged in via the 24Online webpage. This is not possible with any commercial NAS device. As you might already know, most cable internet services don't support PPPOE which means we are always forced to keep our desktops on to stay logged in or else downloading is not possible. I am hoping the electricity bill will take a nosedive now :D

My only peeve is that it has 100mbps LAN and not Gigabit. It takes a bit of patience transferring files at 11MB/s but if you want low power consumption for 24x7 usage, I guess that's one of the sacrifices to be made. It has absolutely no problems streaming multiple 1080p BluRays streams at the same time. No lags or stutters at all. I also tried the Raspbmc OS on another SD card and XBMC runs very smooth. Anybody who wants to use to the Raspberry as an HTPC can get it eyes closed as it can handle everything you throw at it except some rare encodings which don't support hardware acceleration. The IGP core is quite powerful.

@d6bmg, Here you go buddy:

P.S. how much time DX is talking nowadays? I've ordered one digital wattmeter at the begining of this month, and it is yet to reach me.

P.S.S. I also bought Raspberry pi casing (but I don't like it cause i is layered and I'm planning to us heatsink)

DX's processing time has drastically improved in the last 6 months. They have been shipping my orders within 1-3 days (max 1 week) lately, not 1-2 months they used to take earlier. Actual shipping time is dependent on China/HK/SG post. On the rare occasion they ship within 10 days but usually 15-25 days bracket is the sweet spot. My last order took 22 days. I always go for registered mail on DX because unregistered mail is too slow and unreliable as I have experienced from ebay.

Coincidentally, I have also ordered a digital wattmeter from DX and it due to arrive this week. Which one did you go for?

Btw do you know the safe temp for the Pi? Is heatsink really necessary? My Pi's core temperature is usually in the 56-62C range.

@SunE @dan4u, Congos!

1. This one:*dx.com/p/plug-in-kilowatt-meter-adapter-with-power-consumption-monitor-108141
2. Haven't ordered pi yet. Will order when it comes back in stock @element14. So I've no practical idea about safe temperatures.
Why don't you buy heatsink? I've ordered this one: 3pcs Raspberry Pi Heatsink Black Color Cool Beautiful | eBay

@d3p: Awesome purchase man! And great price!!
