A config posted by Cilus in another thread. The reason I think its better to get a AMD FX8350 is most games are starting to get more multithreaded processor friendly.

The config selected by you is pretty good.
Take HD7950 over gtx660ti.Hd7950 is considerably faster and would also allow for better AA levels in games.

LIAN LI Lancool PC-K58W is fine but it doesn't have front usb3.0 slot,whereas 431plus has one front usb3.0 slot.
If you can spend a bit more then get Corsair carbode-400R for around 4.5-5k.It is a much better cabinet overall.

You should not rely on synthetic benchmarks and whats on paper. Real world matters more.

Well this has changed after 310.70 forceware drivers. 660-ti and 7950 now offer equal performance.

Far cry 3 is the best example:

Moving to 4xmsaa with hdao on renders both the cards deliver slower framerates. Although technically 7950 offers 2fps more at 4xmsaa, both of them
fail to deliver smooth gameplay experience at that setting. 2x msaa is the sweetspot and both deliver almost equal framerate.

Here's assasin's creed 3 with TXAA implementation:

there is no point in buying fx8350 IF THE OP WILL NOT OVERCLOCK

I would suggest you to go for Bitfenix Shinobi or Corsair 300R both around 4000

As for Cabinet, look for Corsair Carbide 400R at around 4.5K.

For a good 24" display, I think you have to spend 10K+. BENQ GW2450 LED Monitor based on VA panel @ 11.3K is a good choice.

Also if you are overclocking then you can consider the AMD FX 8350 based configuration. Otherwise i5 3470 is better choice.

^^ Not a balanced configuration at all for Gaming. HD 7850 and GTX 660 have already started to show stress in demanding games like Far Cry 3, Hitman Absolution @ 1080P resolution. So pairing a fast processor with a middle end Graphics card won't help. HD 7950 is the recommended buy here.
