1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:Gaming: Battlefield 3, GTA IV, dota 2, Crysis 2.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 70k +/- 3k

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Yes. Only to make it future proof.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 1 TB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes. (How much difference does a 22 inch to 24 inch would make?)

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Mouse/Keyboard

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Next week

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Never built a desktop before.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:Hyderabad. First preference would be online if prices are reasonable when compared with local price.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: UPS is must. :)

Any suggestions on this build.

A config posted by Cilus in another thread. The reason I think its better to get a AMD FX8350 is most games are starting to get more multithreaded processor friendly.
AMD FX 8350 4 GHz @ 12.5K
MSI 990FX-GD65/Gigabyte 990FX-UD3 @ 9K/9.5K
Corsair Vengeance Red 2100 MHz CL11 4GB X 2 @ 4.6k
WD Green 1TB SATA III 64MB Cache @ 4.2K
Corsair CX 600V2 @ 4K
Sapphire HD 7950 VAPOR-X OC With Boost @ 22K
Asus 24X SATA DVD R/W @ 1K
Logitech G400 Gaming Mouse @ 1.4K
Logitec Keyboard @ 0.4K
BenQ GW2450HM @12k
APC 800VA UPS @ 3.5K

Total 73.5K with Gigabyte Motherboard, 73K with MSI Motherboard.

@hitman4 even at stock speeds the AMD processor is faster then the 3470.
See these

anyways if OP still prefers the Intel he can just go for the components as mentioned by amjath.

edit: ok the i5 does have better real world gaming performance of 5-10 fps and lower power consumption.

@sakethgoud
The config selected by you is pretty good.
Take HD7950 over gtx660ti.Hd7950 is considerably faster and would also allow for better AA levels in games.

LIAN LI Lancool PC-K58W is fine but it doesn't have front usb3.0 slot, whereas 431plus has one front usb3.0 slot.
If you can spend a bit more then get Corsair carbode-400R for around 4.5-5k.It is a much better cabinet overall.

You should not rely on synthetic benchmarks and whats on paper. Real world matters more.

Well this has changed after 310.70 forceware drivers. 660-ti and 7950 now offer equal performance.

Far cry 3 is the best example:

HARDOCP - Highest Playable Settings Continued - Far Cry 3 Video Card Performance and IQ Review

Moving to 4xmsaa with hdao on renders both the cards deliver slower framerates. Although technically 7950 offers 2fps more at 4xmsaa, both of them
fail to deliver smooth gameplay experience at that setting. 2x msaa is the sweetspot and both deliver almost equal framerate.

Here's assasin's creed 3 with TXAA implementation:

HARDOCP - Highest Playable Settings - Assassin's Creed 3 Performance and IQ Review

Performance in battlefield 3 , skyrim and lot others has also increased in 310.70 drivers.

I would say get the cheaper card of the two as far as fullhd resolution gaming is concerned.

In far cry 3, neither 660-ti nor 7950 was able to play the game at 2560x1600 resolution at highest settings.

310.70 forceware drivers comes as a performance driver from nvidia, which improves performance in games as per nvidia.
Far cry3 received a major boost here.

Check the far cry 3 link that you have posted:

Quote from hardOCP
Even though the GTX 660 Ti has the same clock speeds as the GTX 670, and the same CUDA core count, its lesser memory bandwidth and ROP count means we had to back off on Alpha to Coverage. We found that we could have 2X MSAA enabled at 1080p, but we had to turn off Alpha to Coverage completely. In doing so this allowed 2X MSAA to be playable. Otherwise, with Enhanced Alpha to Coverage it was not playable at 2X MSAA. Therefore, the aliasing quality is slightly less than the GTX 670 and HD 7950, but still higher than the 7870 as you will see below.

I would still say hd7950 over gtx660ti.Wider memory bus width and extra VRAM are added bonus.
Let's wait for more complete picture of 310.70 forceware drivers from nvidia.

there is no point in buying fx8350 IF THE OP WILL NOT OVERCLOCK

How is this Cabinet? Any suggestions?

I would suggest you to go for Bitfenix Shinobi or Corsair 300R both around 4000

Thanks for the suggestions guys

I will overclock if not now at least in near future.
Also how much difference does a 22 inch to 24 inch monitor would make?

For a good 24" display, I think you have to spend 10K+. BENQ GW2450 LED Monitor based on VA panel @ 11.3K is a good choice.

Also if you are overclocking then you can consider the AMD FX 8350 based configuration. Otherwise i5 3470 is better choice.

^^ Not a balanced configuration at all for Gaming. HD 7850 and GTX 660 have already started to show stress in demanding games like Far Cry 3, Hitman Absolution @ 1080P resolution. So pairing a fast processor with a middle end Graphics card won't help. HD 7950 is the recommended buy here.
