Hi,
Here is my current 4 year old config
CPU - Core 2 Duo 2.13 GHz - 6420
MB - Asus P5B - VM
RAM - Kingston 2x1GB 677MHz
PSU+Cabinet - Antec SLK - 350W
Monitor - Viewsonic 19" LCD
HDD - Seagate 250GB + 500GB
DVD RW - Sony 24X
KB+Mouse - Logitech

Want upgrade for photo editing, minimal gaming, HD movie watching
PSU - Corsair GS600 - 4000k - Already bought
Cabinet - Cooler Master Elite 430 Black - 2500k - Already bought
Monitor - Need 23"/24" IPS - Brand?
Please suggest for the monitor. I searched for the monitor and found the DELL Ultrasharp 23" is good and it is IPS. Is any other brand having IPS? This monitor does not have the HDMI. Is it required?

GPU - ?
For GPU, i have no idea. After searching, found that ATI GPUs are good. Not sure to go which model. Budget will be 3-4k strictly as i am not a big gamer. And i need a GPU which will be future proof. This has to be supported by current MB and also in future if i upgrade the CPU and MB.

HDD - 1 TB ?
Which is best WD or Seagate ?

Thanks,
Mani

i think it would be more helpfull if you fill up *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/pc-components-configurations/128247-pc-build-questionnaire-template.html

I think I figured it out

IPS are still very costly but Dell U2311H is very good IPS monitor and is also one of the cheapest available. It is about 14k.
BTW, k means 1000 rupees as in your first post it is Corsair GS 600 - 4000K , rather it should be 4k.
For Graphics Card - You can go for Sapphire HD 5670 1GB it's price is about 4k.
As for the hardisk i would recommend Seagate Barracuda as it is better then its WD counterpart (wd green) at almost same price .
Go for Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB @ 2.7k

Thanks for the suggestion...sorry for the "K" typo.

I Started with my budget is around 20k. But it is reached 27.2k.

SO BUDGET WILL BE 30K MAX with Joystick or gaming accesseries

PSU - Corsair GS600 - 4k
Cabinet - Cooler Master Elite 430 Black - 2.5k
HDD - Seagate Baracudda 1TB - Fixed - 2.7k

Monitor - DELL Ultrasharp 23" - 14k
If this is not available in bangalore, any alternative is there? How about the LG 3D monitors? its aroung 15.5k it seems(HDMI,DVI, VGA,FULL HD,3D). Please let me know any other brands having IPS

GPU - Sapphire HD 5670 1GB - 4k
This GPU will fit on my mobo. Its says ddr3 but mobo is having ddr2 ram.
If this is not available in bangalore, any alternative is there?
Please let me know for other option for GPU. I don't want to upgrade the system for next 5 years.

One more query...
I have 2x1gb 667 kingston ram. if i want to upgrade to 4GB, do i have to buy 2x1gb 667 kingston or different brand and different freq will work (eg: 2x1Gb 800mhz corsair)?

Component | Make | Price Graphic Card |MSI Cyclone HD6850 1GB|9000
HDD |Seagate 1TB 7200.12|2700
PSU |Corsair GS600|4000
Monitor | DELL Ultrasharp 23|14000 - Get it from Dell Stores at Dell Office Dumlur or Check at ezone or Croma might be available & cheap too.
| Total |30000

Refer this post & get your doubt clarified about DDR5 & DDR3 GPU's. It has nothing to do with DDR2 or DDR3 Ram speeds.

Thanks d3p5kor,

So i Fixed all except the GPU. Actually my budget includes the Cabinet(2.5k) and the gaming accessories. I feel the GPU is pricy.

Correct me if i am wrong...

If i bought a GPU around 4k and in the future i upgrade my mobo and proccy, then i can buy another GPU(is it called SLI?) to add more power. right?

Because if i buy a 3D TV and want watch 3D movies, i can add a blueray in my system and connect to the TV. i have this in my mind and so not to invest more in GPU, but in the future adding a GPU without wasting existing GPU.

I heard that for 3D, nvidia GPUs are good. Is it true? Can you add some nvidia GPU also within my budget.
