Thanks...but air may not be that much powerful, performance wise.

I see Macbook Pro as a good option but which one ?

What are other options ?

Pure performance : Asus G75VW
MacBook Pro : Simply get the best one which comes in your budget ( it has the amazing retina display :D )
Ultrabook: Samsung Series 9

Its up to you now.

Nothing better than Vaio SVS15116GNB in half the money you're ready to invest.

i7-3612QM + 1080p IPS + 640M LE (OC'able to 650M, if at you need) @ 2kg.

If you can source it from US/Canada, IIRC its available for a mere ~55k there.

^^Well yea, the Asus one might be a little heavy at 4.5kg, due to the 17.3 inch fullhd display, i7-3610qm, 16gb ram, gtx670m 2gb, 750gb hdd, 256 gb ssd.
I guess you don't realise the performance difference one gets with the gtx670m + 256gb ssd when compared to gtx 640m and hdds

Little heavy ? 2 kg and 4.5 kg in laptops is like lifting a bike vs car. Plus I do realise what's the difference one gets b/w the above posted configs. Can you care to explain why the hell he needs gtx 670m ? His work is dev-centric which is majorly CPU + intensive I/O, which just needs fast HDD & RAM. SSD can be added any day. There is no point spending that much money if his requirement is fulfilled by a laptop of half the budget allocated.

PS: 17" laptop is practically a PITA.

MacBook Air makes the best choice, but he needs more performance so MacBook Pro makes sense.
