I don't know whether this will work, but try installing WINE- Not the drink!!!!!!!!!!:!:, the win emulator for Ubuntu from www.winehq.org and use any backup software for windows. In linux activate the wine service and click the setup file. It shud launch in sometime. Using this method, i installed MS OFFICE 2003 in REDHAT 8.1 :) ;) :):):):):):) ;););););)

please don't give such stupid replies. Wine is to be used in such things where native apps are absent or there's an urgent need to use an app that works on windows.
There are a few such tools/scripts that can create backups. I am not at home now, on reaching home I will find a couple.

I think u can use ur Acronis true image for backing ur linux partition also , provided U have made bootable CD of Acronis true image and u make the backup of ur linux installation on some ext2fs file system.

There is a backup application which can be available from Add Remove Programs -->System Tools --->Keep.

It is a KDE application....I already installed it but not use it yet.
I think it is not powerful as Acronis true image.

There's Kbackup, flexbackup, cdbackup, backuppc, amanda, backup manager. I haven't used any, just have a look at their sites and decide which one suits you.
