^Dude you can use any pci-e graphics on that mobo...and if you want to go SLI(2 nvidia cards) or crossfire(2 ATi cards) you can do that too.

please confirm me guys....I am going to change my product based on your words...and the dealer agreed to do so.....last time...should I change to i7 920?????
Yes. With a budget of 60K, it would be a mistake not to go for the Core i7 920.

MoBo: Gigabyte GA-EX58-DS4---14.5K
CPU: Core i7 920---15.5K
RAM: 3GB DDR3 Corsair XMS3---8.5K
HDD: Seagate 32MB buffer 500GB---3.5K
GPU: Palit HD4850 Sonic---11.5K
SMPS: Corsair 650W---7K

I probably have overstated the prices on some of the components a little (+Rs.500/-) just to be on the safer side because I'm not sure the prices on those websites are with VAT or without. Still depending on your choice of the SMPS, you will be able to get a cabinet within your budget. I think the lowest priced cabinets are from Zebronics, Rs.1100/-

thinknano,
1. Which monitor do you plan to use with this machine?
2. Have you already bought Zotac 9800 GTX?
3. Do you have a keyboard+mouse?
4. Is immediately having a TV tuner absolutely essential to your dream machine?

1. dell 22" not now but soon....
2. no I haven't
3. No I don't.
4. Yes..why?

And if I buy the Mobo then I'll go for the ultra durable gigabyte one....that's just 2k more than that mobo..but offers a rich feature and a lot more stability....isn't it?

If you are going to use a dell 22" monitor then you should get a better GPU than the Palit HD4850 Sonic, that would mean another 4-6K. If you don't have keyboard+mouse and if you must have a tv tuner right away then its another 3-5K(?) to the budget. Now if you add the Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 motherboard that would mean an addition of 2K more. So if you want to have it all right away then it takes the overall cost for a Core i7 920 machine, quite a bit beyond your budget of 60K.

If you can wait for another month(till the next pay cheque) to buy the tv tuner and make do with a low cost keyboard+mouse till then, then you can still consider expanding your budget to get a better GPU and the GA-EX58-UD5 motherboard.

So you have either:

-------------
Option #1:
-------------
Cabinet: Zebronics---1K
SMPS: Corsair 650W---7K

MoBo: Gigabyte GA-EX58-DS4---14.5K
CPU: Core i7 920---15.5K
RAM: 3GB DDR3 Corsair XMS3---8.5K
HDD: Seagate 32MB buffer 500GB---3.5K
GPU: Palit HD4850 Sonic 512MB---11.5K

Keyboard+Mouse:---really low cost, maybe Rs.500
TV Tuner:---next month or maybe at the time of getting the Dell 22" monitor, 3K(?).
______
TOTAL: ~62K right away + later on ~5K(?) for keyboard+mouse and tv tuner
======

OR

-------------
Option #2:
-------------
Cabinet: Zebronics---1K
SMPS: Corsair 650W---7K

MoBo: Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5---16.5K
CPU: Core i7 920---15.5K
RAM: 3GB DDR3 Corsair XMS3---8.5K
HDD: Seagate 32MB buffer 500GB---3.5K
GPU: Palit HD4870 Sonic 512MB---16.5K

Keyboard+Mouse: really low cost for now and later on Microsoft 2K(?)
TV Tuner: next month, 3K(?)
______
TOTAL: ~68K right now + later on ~5K(?) for keyboard+mouse and tv tuner
======

OR

-------------
Option #3:
-------------
A Core 2 Quad rig which will be definitely within your budget.

The prices I've used are probably more than the actual price, so the real budget expansion should be lower than what I calculated(option #1 may not even require a budget expansion). Accordingly you make the decision whether to expand the budget a little and go with a Core i7 rig or stay within the budget and go with a Core 2 Quad rig.

Since its been a lot of patience(on your part) and money(on your dad's part :D) to get to the point of buying your dream machine, I urge:)p) you to go for the Core i7 rig(option #2).

Note: You didn't say anything about a dvd burner so I did not calculate the cost of that. Assume it's ~1.5K for any typical(chinese zhing zhong ) dvd burner.

option 2 looks good...since your not upgrading for 3 years its best if you buy the most powerfull rig you can now.

Get microsoft, TVS quality sux

And I don't think there are gonna be any price cuts for X58 soon...apparantly it takes a minimum of 180$ just to make the expensive chipset.

man...that's must be a tragic part of it...but the old TVS products were good for sure....

isn't it true that cordless k/b and mouse are not good for gaming???

^It is true especially in online gaming...there is a slight lag between your key stroke and the actual response so its bad....you also get gaming k/b's and mice which give less then 5ms responses.

You are welcome :). It was no problem because option #1 (I use a CRT monitor) is the machine I'm going to buy, probably after the end of this financial year. I'm not waiting for a price cut on the motherboard or processor but I'm hoping the prices of DDR3 RAM will fall by then.

That reminds me of a line from the movie Armageddon, "American components, Russian components, all the same. All made in TAIWAN!" :D

Congrats on your decision to buy a Core i7 machine. Just don't forget to post back the actual prices of the components when you buy them. And depending upon the reliability of the power supply in your locality, buy a good UPS as soon as possible. Last thing you want is to have that machine ruined by a power cut.

why man?..can certain power ruin the machine??? :O OMG.....

the price of the CPU(core i7 920) is 15750/- without shipping from nehru place....!!!

And I am happy... :)

Frequent power cuts mean that you are not able to turn off the comp safely. That can and will damage your comp, especially the HDD. So if you live in an area that experiences frequent power cuts, then you need to have a UPS that will give you enough backtup time to shutdown the comp safely. But if you live in an area where power cuts are rare then you can afford to wait till you have enough money to get a UPS (to space out the load on your wallet, instead of having to buy all the components at the same time).

hey guys I have got the i7 today...it's cool yaar...now moving forward.

hey now I want to buy a sweet mobo...and i can't use the cheat code here (IFIWEREARICHMAN in GTA3 days) in my real life so..please let me know if the Gigabyte EX58 DS4 should be my choice or other board in the same price tag......

what really sucks is I can't go SLI with this board and my most favorite cards are in geForce cards... :(

at first my plan was to buy 1 geforce 9800 gtx amp edition from zotac for now and then go SLI after a six month or so....so that I can spend my money on other stuffs....

but the GA EX58 UD5 mobo is much costly.......please help me out???...

what should I do??? :( ;( ..............
