Droid Razr MAXX - Worth buying?

I need a phone with pretty good battery backup and after some research I've found out that this one packs a huge punch in the battery. I've come across this link on eBay :

BRAND NEW MOTOROLA DROID RAZR MAXX 16GB , ANDROID ICS GSM+CDMA | eBay

Now, my concerns are :

Since this is an unlocked model (originally locked to Verizon), can I get after sales service in India? Also, can I get updates OTA?

It ships with Android 2.3.6 and I am not sure if there is an official update from Motorola for this.

Battery is non removable, any implications?

This one is not one that I definitely want to buy at the moment, at least until I have all doubts cleared.

Battery life is my major concern, since I am tired of carrying a charger around.

Did not consider Note 2 because its too big.

The Note 2 only looks big. You'll get used to it's size in no time. Since it has excellent battery backup, I'd recommend you to get it.

Well, its way out of budget. My budget is around 20-30 (on EMI)

Anyway, the purpose of this thread is to discuss this particular phone. I will start a new thread for buying advice.

What I need to know is...

Will an unlocked phone come with warranty?

Will I get updates?

Will I get after sales support?

Then its not worth buying IMHO since if I get screwed over, I have no where to run.

If I were at your place
I would have done bought it from HERE instead and request a quote from ishopinternational and the total should be around 23-25k max!

Dude Motorola sales is closed but their service is not. So getting a phone which is not released may not be covered for service.

If u buying as pratyush997 said then u ll not warranty so u are free to use cyanogenmod

Don't buy motorola, also that model is imported, its not going to be serviced here.

For 30k get GSIII or Note II if you can find a good deal @ 30-32k.

One word, this phone is not worth.
UI is crap.
Better option than that is you buy Note 2.

Take my suggestion, get the SGSIII, if you can't spare that much Xperia SL will do just fine.

he can also get the original Note for same price as SL. Battery backup will be slightly better than Xperia S/SL.

True, Note or SL make more sense than Droid Razr Maxx. But If I were you I would wait for 2013 phones rather than spending such a big amount on phones that are discontinued. :)

I can get an S3 next month (depending upon how much tax has been deducted from my salary). Do you think it has great battery life? Since, like I've mentioned, I am sick of carrying my charger around.

^Why the hell do you always keep on suggesting note 2 in almost all threads? Can you get him Note 2 for 26k? Huh
I said Maxx is not worth, and OP needs good battery back up which he will get in Note 2 and overall note 2 is the best device right now so what is the harm in suggesting to people.

Even my words would be same but since OP priority is battery back up, SL is not a good option.

Note is costlier than SL(min 3k difference) and also the battery back up of even the old Note is not good.

If op is OK with 5 inches he can wait for 2013 phones cause its going to be 5 inches phones this year.
Compare to note 1, note 2 is quite thin, less broader, but quite heavy than other phones.(u ll know if u keep them in ur pocket for long time). As far as one hand operation etc it has a dedicated software for that. I recommend u to personally use a phone which is there for display then buy.
