Hi guys,

As you may have read my previous posts about a mobile of around ~8-9k.

Well, I have increased my budget. And I am currently looking forward to get one of these: Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman -OR- Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro -OR- Motorola Defy Mini.

I am pretty serious this time, tired of searching the best VFM phone out there.. but need all your help I can get before getting any one of these.

So, please tell me about best between these three.

Some points to note:
-I am not really into for a qwerty. is ok-so-so no prob if i have it but wont need it probably if it creates some rattling/other kind of issues.

- how abt the battery backup? gsmarena shows both have same battery

- considering the price point I would rather go for a cheaper one if the $ gap is more than 2.5-3k. but if the features are god enough I might get the best one

- bravia engine is not present in walkman..? or is it there?? lil' bit confused here. what exactly is it? god UI improvement sort of thingy?

-do tell me about customization specifically Cyanogen mod roms support.

- how is the build quality of the SEs? if we compare it to motorola fire xt? or the defy series? (except for being dust/water proof )

- any updates on when defy mini will hit market in india??

Are there any users/owners of these two phones here in this forum? Please tell me abt your review of your phones.

Bro me too want a cell phone ,for same range and i also have same mobiles in my mind.I like Xperia Mini pro (blck),all the 3 phones has almost same features.Xperia is a bit better in looks and Good Camera quality than live and also a a secondary camera which is not in defy and most imp of all It also has a QWERTY keypad(if u are not familiar with touch type like me),only drawback that i felt is it has a 3 " display screen (if u buying smartphone first time and haven't used a large display screen before then u haven't notice any difference.Audio quality is also very good.
I have seen people who complaints about the static noise problem while audio and video recording,so please look for the manufacture date on the box if it is 11w43 or above buy it without thinking much.

no no..u got me wrong on defy.. I mentioned "Defy mini" and not just "Defy". And Defy Mini does have a front facing cam. check gsmaren for its specs But yes it lacks a 5mp cam; it has a 3mp with flash.

BTW whats this kind of date: 11w43 ? some kind of batch no. ?

I am confused on mini pro because of that sliding design (the qwerty keyboard). I really dont like that type of design but the bravia engine. have to do more Research on this.

Some SE owners plz.. help us.. tell us abt its pros/cons and performance, screen quality , battery life etc.

Sorry my mistake .. Motorola defy mini specs are good but their service is really poor(i heard from my friends who used motorola mobiles).
And u don't like the Mini pro Qwerty keyboard.That sort of board are also good bro and u can type in with it at the speed u type with your desktop or laptop keyboard.My bro has a samsung corby pro,it also has that type of qwerty ,at first my bro also doesn't like that but when my bro become familiar with the qwerty in 1-2 months he can type very very fast in comparison with touch type and normal keypad mobiles.
And for the date 11w43 ,i really don't know much about it but i have read somewhere about it and there is that 11w28,11w31 ,11w43 are manufactured date,it can be batch no. though.I am not sure.But please check this no. if u buy Mini pro.it should be on the box.

As for the battery life,every android phone sucks battery and it will drain with an average use.you can check gsmarena.com for battery backup of the mobiles.
Screen quality of both is good[mini pro is better than live in this(i have read in some forum or any website)].

Please provide some more suggestions to him so that he can buy the right product.

reason being am avoiding qwerty=

awesome phone using it for 5 monts,

u sure price gonna fall??Is that because of budget 2012-13 or beacuse of upcoming ericsson's neo l and others??

According to budget 2% relaxation in custom duty and 2% increase in excise duty on mobiles(as per i know).Don't u think that will increase the price instead of decreasing??(correct me if i am wrong)

If i am wrong then how much fall can we expect??If it fall for 15k ,then we can afford it.

I don't think so it will launch very early,it will take time for this mobile to be available in India.

I guess it will be better to buy neo v then .

Neo V has heatin issue.. be careful about that..
and Neo V body itself is of very bad quality..

walkman doesn't have bravia engine and if am paying around 15k for walkman then i guess it wise and better to pay a little more and get bravia + a bigger screen

hmm heating issues? lol all those ppl who had heating issues were banging their neo V with either wifi for too long + too many video browsing at HD quality

There u also got reviews and 99% reviews are positive for neo v.
Those people also given the reply given by you on heating issue.Every android mobile gets heated after a long heavy use.Build quality is also good of neo v and it is stylish too.
White and blue color looks awesome.
Which neo v Model color u like though??

all Xperias heat a lot. specially the Minis. Heating isn't a problem as all Android mobile heats a bit but if the touch keys starts acting strange then it can be a real issue. this problem can't be found in Live with Walkman so maybe Neo V is not prone to this.

will replace neo V in 18-20k segment.

yep am going forward with neo V too but just hanging onto motorola's defy mini release date and customer reviews (just in case I change my mind to go with a more solid build just having doubt on neo V's build quality after seeing iGyaan's bharat review of neo V totally plastic build )

Ironically moto guys have published explicitly that defy mini "WON'T" be receiving ICS update well, thats not good :/

Anyways as its based off Arm series (800mhz proccy) procs so some helpful people @ XDA will be kind enough to port ICS/CM onto defy mini

and that would be "aaws0m"

bah' lets see anyways; i won't wait much getting a phone before/around 14th april 2012(at real max)

it heats alot.. you cant even touch phone to your ear even after a single long conversation of arnd 30 mins.
