well, this is my first post here, so hey all!
am gonna buy a new pc soon, so i wondered if could get some nice configs here (been reading digit since years now, so well :p )
here's the questionnaire-

1. What is the purpose of the computer? (Note: If you are planning to say multimedia, you will have to be more specific as all types of systems are capable of doing that)
A: Mostly gaming, and then just some itsy bitsy taks here and there

2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM/ sellers? If not- why?
A: yeah

3. What is your MAX budget?
A: 40k, though if required, then can drag it to a max of 45k

4. Planning to overclock?
A: depends, havent tried earlier though, so most probably would avoid it

5. Which OS are you planning to use?
A: Win 7

6. How much hard drive space is needed?
A: 500 GB - 1 TB

7. What resolution will the screen run at & whats the size of the screen you want? If you already want have one and want to use it, mention its resolution and size.
A: I have the AOC 2276vw, 22", runs at a resolution of 1920*1080, bought it just a few months back so i'd prefer using it

8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest, 5 being you are somewhat in sync with the current performers and 10 being the highest)
A: 3

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
A: assembler

10. When are you planning to buy the system?
A: in about a month or so

11. Are you one of the types looking out for "future proof" configurations?
A: kinda, my current rig lasted me about 2 years, if this 1 could do the same, like bout 2.5 years or so, cool enough :)

12. Are there going to be any components that you don't want to include in this new rig? If yes, do mention.
A: well, i want everything inside the cabinet, outside, nothing much, i'd buy a keyboard and mouse myself, based on my comfort level, UPS too

13. Which city do you live in and are you open to buying from shops from other city/states?
A: Indore, and i'd prefer buying it from the same place, i can get nearly everything here anyways, and the stuff which i cant, the shop keepers are kind enough to get them for me ;)

14. Mention any other points if deemed necessary
A: none i guess

Here goes my suggestion:-

CPU: Core i5 2400 @ 9.5K
Mobo: Intel Dh67CL @ 6.5K
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 4 GB single stick 1600 MHz @ 2.7K
GPU: Sapphire HD 6870 1 GB GDDR5 @ 11.9K
HDD: Seagate 500GB 7200.12 @ 1.7K
DVD: LG 22X SATA @ 0.9K
PSU: Corsair GS 600W @ 3.8K
Case: CM ELite 430 @ 2.5K
Mouse & Keyboard: Rajer Cyclosa Gaming Bundle @ 2K

Total 41.5K. Suggested a Keyboard Mouse combo which is really bang for back. HD 6870 is well suited for gaming in 1080P resolution. But if you can increase a little then get the HD 6950 1 GB @ 14.8K or the 2 GB @ 15.6K. GTX 560 Ti is also a worthy candidate and MSI version is around 15.8K

the i5 2400 cant be overclocked.
and i recommend the radeon 6950 2gb. you may even unlock the disabled shaders on it.

^^ Go with Jas's config, Perfectly balanced.

If you are sure, you'll not OC, swearing to god, then buy i2400, if not, then get 2500k.

Get 1600MHz RAM Kits.

Mobo model clearly mentioned as DH67BL

Get MSI R6950 2PM2D2GD5 2GB - Damn VFM and awesome performer...
