Quoting his manifesto:

Sadly in India, the term ‘broadband’ has lost all relevance. For many
people the ‘world wide web’ is still ‘world wide wait’. First of all, the
Indian definition of broadband is a measly 256 Kbps as opposed to the
2 Mbps definition in most developed countries. Secondly, even 256 Kbps
of pure bandwidth is good enough for most data applications, provided
the end-user actually gets 256 Kbps of throughput. Unfortunately, when ISPs
promise ‘broadband’, they share the same bandwidth pipe with multiple users,
as a result of which most users in India receive only a fraction of the bandwidth
promised to them. A BJP-led NDA Government would redefine broadband to
mean 2 Mbps with a 1:1 contention ratio.

I just wish all manifestos were not fairy tales.

Oh yeah, There were 2 spelling mistakes in the quoted paragraph.
People who cant 'spell check' are out to set IT visions for a billion people. ;-)

On a more serious note, Guys do go out and vote.

You can grab the manifesto from here: *www.lkadvani.in/eng/images/stories/it-vision.pdf?gclid=CO31k6u11pkCFRFMagod0w-eVA
I found it through an advert on sourceforge.

Yes 2 MBPS, at what cost? An arm and a leg? Let BSNL service their existing lines properly. Our BSNL internet line in college does not work half the time, and momentarily goes dead while in use.

yippee

lost in my world
i remember these idiots calling 2007 the year of broadband what did they accomplish so far?

Ya, I too remember that,:lol:

BTW, looking at Advani's picture in his official election website, I think he should go to medical for checkup of his back rather than competing for becoming a PM.
