If I have learnt English right then yes, that article clearly says 2 mbps minimum. So FUP, no FUP, minimum speed should be 2 mbps.
hmm... can someone check and confirm, because it seems like post FUP speeds are actually at 1.5 and 1 mbps, and they may just have upgraded existing plans to 2 mbps but only before the FUP. That is another way to read it. At least, this seems to be the case considering the mtnl web site at the moment.
The unlimited plan is STILL continuing for those who have not switched away from it! they are not giving new connections that is all.
Their speed changed but not the price and download limit (from 1 to 1.5 mb) but this latest one I don't know, because in official site, there are still plans that dip to 1 and 1.5 mb after upgrade
actually, the guy at the exchange only advised us not to change the plan no matter what, because it was the best one. It was called mtnl triband when introduced, which allowed TV, net, VOIP and a whole bunch of services over the copper cables itself.
See right now it is like we have the truly unlimited connection, but MTNL has the right to cancel it any time, but they have not done it yet
at least some places in Maharashtra have it apart from Mumbai
