Google Account Disabled

Guys, this morning I saw that my phone was showing a warning symbol, checked and saw that my google account had been disabled and asked me to login via a web browser on a computer. logging in directed me to a captcha code and then the browser loaded my Gmail. I promptly changed my password and activated setup two step verification.

everything looks normal right now. I wonder why my account got disabled in the first place?? I checked for similar issues and most of them are related to youtube or adsense violations only..

can anyone tell me what actually happened???

EDIT 1 : BTW my brother had asked me to send two three bulk mails to a list(his contacts). about 120 contacts so that would be about say ~360 in total, few bounced (19x3=57) and rest went through.

EDIT 2 : sorry for the little bit misleading title, I want to make sure other with similar issues can find this thread.

EDIT 3 :

.. this is what I found

In an effort to fight spam and prevent abuse, Google will temporarily disable your account if you send messages to more than 500 recipients or if you send a large number of undeliverable messages. If you use a POP or IMAP client (Microsoft Outlook or Apple Mail, e.g.), you may only send a message to 100 people at a time. Your account should be re-enabled within 24 hours.

If you communicate with the same group of people on a regular basis, you might be interested in Google Groups.

If you send a large number of undeliverable messages, we suggest verifying your contacts' email addresses. It's also important that everyone you are sending mail to is willing to receive it.

So.. the Google disabled your account if you send 500+ emails or get lots of bounced email then your account will be disabled.

Mystery solved in 20 minutes

lesson : Don't send bulk mail or spam from Google account.

Good to see, Google fights for spams.

What I didn't get is that why you needed to sent bulk mails in the first place? Couldn't contacts can be sent in a single Zip file? Am I missing something?
